Way back when, in the dim and distant times of 2013, I read a fic that quickly became one of my favourites. Granted, I didn't have a wealth of ponyfic under my belt at that stage, but this fic stood out in my memory even as I ploughed my way through enough goodfic, badfic and mediocrefic to sink several barges.
