Hurricane Watch in my area of Texas. If you don't hear from me in a while, it's because I'm searching for somewhere higher to hide.
Hurricane Watch in my area of Texas. If you don't hear from me in a while, it's because I'm searching for somewhere higher to hide.
Anyone who's watched the Weather Channel recently knows that a big fuck-off storm is headed for the Texas coast. For us in the Houston, it's looking like Allison 2.0. For those of you who were NOT in the Houston area back in June of '01, that means a metric shit-ton of rain for us.
My home is a ferrocrete fortress, like the average Mexican home.
I only had to board up one window, which is the only window in my home that faces wind and I haven't changed to acrylic.
The wind did rattle my windows, and the wind howled all night through my side alley, but that was perfectly expected.
Nonetheless, I couldn't fall asleep until somewhere between 5 and 6AM. All I know is that the sky was beginning to light up.
I've heard a variety of possible reasons why unicorns like mountains, from the physical ("lots of gems there") to the psychological ("Rincewind Arcology Syndrome").
If you didn't know bout' hurricane Dorian, well let me tell ya. Apparently it was a just a tropical storm yesterday and now its whole ass hurricane, and it's heading straight to Florida! Where I live! Right next to the coastline! Fun! This may or may not affect the next chapter but I'm not gonna make this an excuse to not update it. Anyways, if ya'll live in florida good luck pals.
Hey, everybody. Just a quick post here. As I have mentioned before, I live in Miami, and we are now all bracing for Hurricane Dorian, which is headed right for us. The current prediction is that by Sunday, it will reach Florida as a Category 4 hurricane. For those unfamiliar with hurricanes, the scale goes up to Category 5. The estimated wind speed when it gets here is 130 mph.
Labor Day weekend. For some, it's on odd placement of a break in the school year. For others, particularly northerners, it marks the last weekend before school.
Hey everybody, I just want to let you know I may be a little quiet for a while (not that I'm especially active or anything, but you know). I live in Florida and currently my family has been tracking Hurricane Ian. Currently it seems to be heading a little south away from where I am (a lot better then before where my city was on a direct collision course with a category 4 storm) but that could change at any time and it won't be a pleasant experience regardless. It hasn't been this bad since
During the storms, our power was knocked out. It stayed out until a few hours ago, when it came on... for about half a minute, I guess? Then it went off for a few hours, then came on... this time for 45 minutes. Then, a short period, and it was on again, and that's where we are now. We've had to throw out some food so it doesn't make us sick, but not a lot.
I will keep this brief and to the point. I am in the way of Irma. I have to evacuate tomorrow and honestly I am not sure what is going to happen. I will keep you all posted on the details if I can. Now if I cant well...I love you all everybody and everypony.
Till we meet again, hopefully that is very soon.
Equinox Starshifter.
I know of one person on here who was staying put. Even though Florence was recently downgraded to a Cat 2, if you are unable or unwilling to leave, please stay safe.
Robin Williams was right; these things need more intimidating names.
Well, the dregs of Irma, at least. The storm still has a lot of power and we have a lot of tall trees near the house that aren't the healthiest. I'm likely to lose net and power very soon, but hopefully that'll be it.
If the hurricane moves just a little left it will it me...If I die please remember me its almost a five and hurricane andrew is about to be reborn.
Please remember me after hurricane Matthew if I don't come back...

As I live in Texas my state has experienced the bulk of the storm, it has been pouring nonstop for 3 days and I haven't been able to go to work. For the most part however I have not experienced any major flooding or damages in my specific area.
But come Monday that may change.
I just received word that Houston will release the dams that are holding back a lot of water, and the Brazos river will rise considerable and potentially flood my area.
As some of you may know, Florida is currently in the path of a powerful category 5 hurricane called Irma. Luckily me and my family have a couple of days to prepare for this storm. So if I drop off the face of the earth for a little bit, you know why.
Besides that, how's everyone doing?
I'm sure a lot of you know about it already, but in case there's anyone out of the loop, I'll reiterate it here. Currently, there is a hurricane blowing it's way through the Caribbean; it has already shredded it's way through Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, and the Bahamas and it's coming to the southern United States.
Hey everypony it-a-me, MLPSolarDash1907 again!
As some of you probably know, a hurricane by the name of Sally hit the Gulf Coast and the states of Missippi, Florida, and Alabama at its full force, with Alabama taking the brunt of the storm.
Thankfully, the worst of the storm did not affect me, but it did affect my area a good bit but my house is still standing, no trees fell in my yard or any power lines, thank God for that!
