Writer's block hasn't quite set in, and progress continues slowly each day for my stories. But for now, gaming has largely taken over.

Reach wasn't my most played Halo game, because it launched during the first real upheaval of my life; moving, leaving home, starting a new career. No matter what IP I work with, I'm proud when readers say that my work remains largely within the confines of an established character's mannerisms, behavior, and personality. One of my bucket list items for 2023 was to make it to a Halo LAN event, after having such an entertaining time watching them on Twitch last year.
I finally beat Diablo 2 Resurrected on Normal last night, and after two hours on Nightmare difficulty, my worst fears from Path of Exile were realized; just like in that game, my build hit a wall because I don't plan for synergies 30 levels ago. Plus there's a 40% penalty to all resistances for Nightmare, because apparently that's supposed to be more fun, and certainly doesn't erase 15 hours of grinding points into resistances. A staple of Halo matchmaking. Why is this not here? 343 can then get an idea of the maps people like to play on, and the ones they don't like. I, personally, am sick of Swatnums four times in a row.
