The new chapter of Five Star Service now stands at 8800 words and will likely be over 12,000 before all is said and done--a double-length chapter for the most important chapter of her life. All the princesses will be there, and you'll at last meet her first human... which readers of a certain DEL work (*cough*Changeling Roun*cough*) should already know the identity of anyway. 
It's looking good so far and I think everyone's going to love it. I'm aiming for a Halloween release.

And to mark the occasion... for those of you who were worried about the next and somewhat penultimate chapter of Five Star Service being delayed from its planned Nightmare Night release:
The chapter draft is complete and stands at just north of 13,000 words. I will be turning loose this fully armed and operational chapter as soon as I have all prereader feedback in.
Current projected release date is Wednesday; just waiting on two more prereads. And in a change, there will NOT be any sex scene in it. In the course of writing this, I realized something I should have long before--sometimes a scene is more powerful without overt sex; sometime’s it’s better if you just leave it in the background undescribed.
Hey folks. Just wanted to let everyone know where things stand with our favorite mare and the future of the Five Star series.
After some discussion with my prereaders as to how best redo the climactic scene, most notably AJ_Aficionado who offered some very good advice, I believe I have settled on a new approach.
In the space of ten days, I've completed another three-story cycle of Five Star Service, The Lawyer and the Unicorn, and Rise of Firefly. New chapters were written and released for each in that time, and now I'm back at the cycle start again, on
... after putting 100,000 words in on my other works. The Lawyer and the Unicorn has turned into a decent hit given its subject matter, and I just launched a new story yesterday called Before the Storm: The Rise of Firefly.
Only awaiting final preread of the chapter draft. The next-to-last article in the series goes into the formation and initial staff hires at G4M as a prelude to the hiring of gentlemen themselves, which will be told in the final article. And that final article will be double-length, one last tale of sexiness... telling the story of a very special gentleman; the very first Five Stars ever recruited, in fact. Who is he? You'll find out, but there's a hint given here. All I'll say for now is
Despite not having worked on the story for a few months, my muse was with me and I punched out the chapter in record time. The full chapter draft is complete; it's just awaiting prereads before posting. A preview? I'll pass this time, but I will say this:

So I just discovered that the site updates some months back broke the color text formatting in parts of Five Star Service, causing the opening editor notes text colors to spill over into the main chapter sections. I've fixed what I can from work, but a careful check will have to wait until I'm home. For those who have encountered that issue already, apologies.
Hello, Five Star Service fans. As promised, I'm going to redo the two chapters regarding the man who would become known as The Attorney near the end of the story (Parts 26 and 27) and release them as new chapters. I will not be deleting the old ones right away as that would mean I lose the comments (I haven't decided if I really want to do that) but for now I will clearly mark them as deprecated and move the author's notes up front to explain why.
It'll be a few weeks more before I return to it, as I swore to finish off Five Star Service first. Just one chapter of it remains, then I owe Raven a Call of Duty: Equestrian Warfare chapter, then TLaTU is up to bat and I will finish it in turn, alternating its final chapters with those of Rise of Firefly.

Wish I had a new chapter to mark the occasion, but by coincidence I did release a new chapter of Rise of Firefly on the same day. Hard to believe it's been nearly two years since I started this, and the end is now in sight, around six or seven chapters away. It's been a long, slow climb to 200, but I've certainly gotten some help along the way, from DEL most notably--his advertising my story caused a surge of new readers in the spring, and his indulgence in letting me tell the story of
Welcome new readers! After a painfully slow initial climb, Before the Storm: The Rise of Firefly hit the featured list the last two chapter releases and a slew of new likes, tracks and faves was the result. I'm gratified to see the story gaining traction now, and though it certainly had a rough start as I've had to go back in and make some major fixes to earlier chapters, I'm very happy with it now. This has been my favorite story to work on of late, and I actually wrote the last chapter
But it will probably be a few more days yet. Currently sitting at 10k+ words, but the chapter is only about 2/3rds done. It's tentatively titled The Attorney and The Earth Pony, which, yes, is a deliberate play on the title of a certain other story I do.
