Well... even with my username, "TheMajorTechie", that still doesn't mean that I'm absolutely perfect at stuff like that. Just today, I accidentally electrocuted myself after touching a live wire inside a system, and burned out the floppy drive's circuit board. Until just a few hours ago, both me and my room both smelled like melted plastic.

And before I even had the chance to pack i up, my main computer's screen kinda just... died.

It still works and all, but it's an older LCD that looks like this squarish black and silver box, but the backlight for it finally gave out. I should've figured that it would soon, considering the annoyingly loud electronic noise that the thing emitted for the past week. All I know is that it lasted a pretty long time for something I picked up at a thrift store.

1. I didn't put actual details about the story in the short description.
2. I failed on basic proofreading.
3. The story is dumb and they just failed it because it's too dumb for the site.

I'm typing this blog up on my new Surface RT, but not in the way you'd expect. Taking into account that the only available browser is Internet Explorer, I suspected already that certain sites wouldn't load properly. Turns out that if you use two-factor authentication for Fimfiction, the login page will freeze after you enter your password, because Internet Explorer in Windows RT 8.1 cannot render the submission form for the two-factor auth code.

... And then I logged on and noticed my latest stories box looked strange, so I spent 10 minutes trying to fix it, searching for help, and preparing to send a message to knighty... When I realized I didn't have the mature content setting on.
Whoops.

Remember how I bought a lightly used Surface RT off of Ebay?

Yeah, it's been used so little that I'm stuck waiting for it to install updates between 2014 up to now. And some of the updates failed as well, so I'm now waiting for it to finish "undoing the changes".

The mobo I ordered a fe days ago arrived...

Dead on arrival. Plugged it in following the manual instructions, made sure I used a PSU that wasn't going to fry the thing...

Magic smoke right when I fired it up. Complete with sizzling and popping noise. The VRM for the chipset AND the CPU fried on first boot, even when I was using a PSU that I knew for a fact worked well with hardware from the time period of the mobo.

My Surface RT was working well and I as bulldozing through the updates, and I even managed to properly log onto Fimfiction.
