Going to Everfree Northwest · 4:55am May 12th, 2016
Maybe I'll run into one of you dorks there. If you're lucky, you can buy a doughnut from me behind the dumpster.

Took me ten hours from the courtesy shuttle to weather delays to midair delays to fishhooking my way through Newark Penn Station through walking through my front door, but I made it home from Everfree Northwest. Expect a post-con blog and FiCG: Frenemies soon, and an overdue Group Precipitation update a few minutes ago.
EFNW is back on for in-person events! And now that I live in Oregon (long story I'll blog about later), I can actually attend! Just signed up, registration is hella cheap compared to a lot of other cons I've seen. In case you hadn't heard about it, you can check the site here.
Well, Alby and Oroboro said it. I've been watching prices like a hawk since mid-March waiting for the opportune moment. It's passed, but prices are still in a place where, for the experience of going to Seattle, seeing my first pony convention, and meeting some friends in person, I'll pay.
Drake is going to EFN.
Just got home from Everfree Northwest. Wow, that is the most fun I've had at a convention in far too many years. So amazingly cool and fun and educational. Got some great feedback on my writing, and got to meet some great pony authors and artists, including Novel-Idea, Winston, Cynewulf,
Quick update. I'm at efnw this weekend if anyone wants to try and say hello. You can leave a message here, but discord would be best to send a dm. You can also keep an eye out for my metal gear solid / time traveling Twilight shirt. (I used to have a Twilight's dollhouse shirt but I can't find it and this is. The. Worst. Possible. Thing.)
I'll do an update on stories soon, like the two abandoned stories I continued then abandoned again, or the second DoH trilogy.
Notes From The Pre-Readers
So another fic has come and gone. As always, some of my friends and pre-readers leave notes in the google docs or elsewhere on what to do. Ever since Button’s Date, I’ve made a tradition of posting those notes in the comment section of each story for two reasons;
Hey, guys!
So I'm putting the finishing edits on the next chapter of Into the Dark, and I finally remembered to make a blog post about the fact that I'm planning to attend Everfree Northwest this year, May 12-14. I'm hoping to meet some new and familiar names and faces, and I'm currently looking to see who might be looking to share a room, as hotels are looking a bit on the expensive side.
I'm at Everfree Northwest! I'll be here for the whole convention. Should be a good time, and I'm hoping to run into other writers while I'm here!
Now in Bellevue. I’ve missed the EFNW opening ceremonies, but there’s still much to see and do. Say hi if you spot me; I’ve got the rainbow face mask and a Best Pony poking out of my backpack.
I'll be the guy walking around with the pass that has the name Lightbreeze on it.
I will be going to the EFNW this summer! I haven't been to a con since fall of 2019 so this is exciting!
2020 was a rough year, and we aren't out of the woods yet, but things are looking better. So let's cut loose at the EFNW and have a good time! Hopefully I will see some FimFictioners there!
This is a repost from the comments section of CouchCrusader's own retrospective. I figured I'd post it here for the curious.
The Admiral is in Seattle!
And when I arrived, it was raining, thus validating everything that I believe about the city. One of the locals says that it doesn't always rain in Seattle, but I choose not to believe him.
I seem to recall hearing that the Scribblefest winners would get published in the EFNW con literature. Since I didn't go, on account of being trapped in an isolated bunker seven miles underneath the Earth's crust, I have no way of ever seeing it with my own eyes.
I'm going to a con.
A PONY CON.
Everfree Northwest, to be precise. Two days from now, I shall be ensconced in a Seattle hotel room, where I imagine I will be obligated to drink a bunch of Starbucks, watch a lot of Fraser, and listen to a lot of Nirvana.
(I'll probably wear flannel even without the city obligation).
Post-con blogs are weird, how do I even do this lol
I had a lot of fun, for it being my first con ever! Got a lot of cool merch, attended a few interesting panels (including Iron Authors; unfortunately I had to miss the awards ceremony because of my flight), and even met up with a few of my EoJ crew. The highlight probably has to be being able to meet some of the fans who influenced me as a kid - got me into pony and what not - and just being able to tell them that.
Hey!
So we're at Everfree Northwest right now! We have a bookstore! If you happen to be here, come by and say hi. Both Compati and Into the Dark are on sale, along with so many other books, omg. The hype is real, you guys!
Well, this is long overdue. Let’s get to it before it gets any more so. (And for those wondering how this fits into my usual blog naming convention, see the flavor text of Experimental Frenzy.)
