At long last, I've started working on my next story.
The scope of it surprised even me. While it is comparatively small, my perfectionism and obsession drive me to dig into tons of material for the sake of pumping out a few lines. World-building and analysis are my long-time passion, but world-building must stand on firm factual ground to maintain suspense of disbelief. It must be believable to become truly immersive, and that is not as easy as one may think.

Twilight + metaphysics + Socratic dialogue = win ?

Obviously it’s not exactly stated that Twilight is into things of this sort though it’s quite easy to imagine that her natural inquisitiveness will lead her into pondering questions about the nature of the world she is in. A lot of the more creative fanfics certainly do go in that direction.

Imagine a pony version of Plato or Socrates in the form of a certain purple princess!

I think one of the hardest things for a writer to understand is if an idea is simply a nice thought, or something that can be expanded upon into its own world. We often think of idea's and say; "Wow! That'd be a really good story. I should start writing that and get it up and see how people like it!"
