Why Bother Editorial: The Characterization of Luxure and the theme of Existential Nihlism + Art request · 12:36am Dec 1st, 2016

I'd like to go into some analysis regarding the way I write Luxure in "Why Bother?" and basically what her character means. On the surface it could be easy to writer her off ass "a total bitch that magically manipulated ponies into fighting for her that just happens to have reality-breaking powers." That's certainly a part of her that we've seen but there's also that one thing she hates going into detail about, but for the most part has no choice. The fact that she is self-aware of her place in

yay characterization? · 8:52pm Dec 12th, 2015

It took me until today to realize; Pinkie's bad at drawing. I mean, she was terrible at coloring the color book in S4E1, her Rainbow Dash drawing in Pinkie Pride was okay, and the drawings of her friends in Scare Master also looked horrible. Any other examples?

Pinkie Pie vs. The Script--OR--How I Learned Characterization · 12:18am Oct 28th, 2014

It was a beautiful day in Ponyville. Pinkie Pie bounce merrily along on her way to library. She hummed a tune—

“Here we go again,” Pinkie sighed.

...

The sky was blue, and all the grass was green. The sun was as warm as—

The Necessity of Failure · 1:20am Oct 12th, 2014

If I had a nickel every time I heard someone say nobody’s perfect, I’d have about three bucks. Seriously, a nickel isn’t worth that much. Regardless, the point of the saying still stands. I’ve heard how nobody’s perfect so often because it’s true. Whether you nod your head or roll your eyes when you hear it, we all understand it to be true.

I'm going to get rid of Odium now. · 7:08pm May 31st, 2021

I think I'm going to get rid of Odium now. I know that some people like him, but now I'm starting to see why there are others who don't.

It's not his characterization or his backstory or design, but maybe his role in the story and his passive, instead of active, writing. I could be wrong, but now I know what the other side might be talking about.

Story Review 1: The Changeling Trials · 6:46am Sep 22nd, 2017

I like to read. Specifically, I like to read stories that are well done and draws me in.

Some of you may know that once or twice I’ve given a review on some stories. I like doing this, as I like not only thanking the authors for making the story but helping to point out areas where they could improve.

Back from Vacation! Sombra's characterization and some stuff moving forward. · 5:45pm May 3rd, 2019

So remember when I said it would take me a week? Turned out I meant to say a month as the moment I came back, a lot of shit needed to be change while I began working. But during my week month away, I managed to get time to watch the premier of the final season... And my oh my, the stuff they did with Sombra.

Silver Spanner: What We Know · 9:09pm Mar 17th, 2016

Welcome to my 100th blog post!! :pinkiehappy:

So after some nasty business elsewhere, I thought I'd share my thoughts on a cool background pony called Silver Spanner, whom I think is pretty intriguing. As far as details go for her, they are few and far between.

No More Perspective Patterns in Discord! Under His Rule · 9:35pm Jun 10th, 2015

Let's be honest, this mechanic is just a gimmick. Switching perspectives every other chapter wasn't a good idea.

What taking this mechanic away will bring:
- Better pacing
- More omniscent and descriptive language

Chapter 3 is Live! · 8:25pm Feb 7th, 2016

New chapter for What They Expect to Give is up and ready to read. I'm really glad I had that ready ahead of time. The extra time from my last read let me see something that even my two editors had missed. It's so refreshing to be ahead of an update schedule for once!

On Spike Fics · 11:08pm Apr 19th, 2016

Two blogs in one day? it's almost like I'm active or something.

Anyways, in a half-hearted effort to show some activity on this site and conquer the dark void that is every day life show that I'm still alive, I'm going to blog every once in awhile about trends I notice on the site, or things that bother me, or whatever.

Good? Good.

So I made a blog earlier today asking 'why'. Why do 'edgy spike' fics exist?
