So, I don't generally listen to electronic music. Or, at least, I didn't. My thing is usually orchestral soundtracks, or a whole bunch of variations of rock.
But I've been listening to this "Carpenter Brut" guy, and some of his stuff...
It's all fantastic. I didn't expect to enjoy these songs so much.

A Christmas Story (1983) will be a lasting part of Bob Clark’s legacy, but for horror fans, the work he did in the 1970s is just as important. Films like Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things (1972) and Deathdream (1974) got him notice, but Black Christmas (1974), one of the first slasher films, became a cult classic and earned him a dedicated following.
There’s only so much that can go into a story, especially one with as many characters as 16 has. So I’m opening the floor to asking these characters questions. John Carpenter's iconic 1978 masterpiece remains a wonderful example of not only prime example of the slasher film genre, but also the film that, more then any other, reinvented the horror genre, codifying and building the dozens of tropes that would come to define all subdivisions of horror and thrillers.
To talk of many things. Of shoes and ships--and sealing-wax, of cabbages and kings and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings.
And then? Luna memes!
Oh and it is also that time of the year yet again. I know Twi-Fi won't be there, but how many of my other wonderful followers are going to enjoy Everfree Northwest with me this year.

They Live! is a bit of an enigma for me.
On the one hand, the film's humor and action sequences are really fun, and John Carpenter knows how to direct that stuff expertly.
On the other hand, the screenplay, while being a source for much of the humor, is also horrifically unsubtle in it's message, delivering it with all the grace and subtly of an atomic bomb in a dynamite factory. Let's break it down a bit, shall we?
