I’ve written a huge number of those Points of Canon posts. Someone might actually use them as a reference.1

Canon is an often-controversial subject in fan circles. In some cases, points of contention are legitimate ambiguities. In other cases, it occurs because people can’t agree on what canon actually means. But what is “canon”, and why is it so important?
The idea of “canon” comes from the so-called Biblical canon – that is to say, the books of the Bible (or another religious text) which are considered to be authentic and divinely inspired. In other words, the word of God, writ large on paper.
I’ve got some time, but no energy to write.
But I can analyze canon in my sleep. :)

I’m holding back on the Shadow Lock storyline because it’s a three-parter, and I’m not sure what to think of it, and I’m holding back on Legends of Magic #1 for a similar reason.
But Friends Forever #37 is standalone, so might as well sort it out while I have the time.
Winter in Equestria is the time when nothing ever happens.
This comic is, if my memory serves me right, the only winter story in the entire MLP canon and demi-canon not explicitly connected to Hearth’s Warming or season change festivals..

This is a three-parter, so I’ll deal with it in bulk.
It’s interesting in that it defines more of Discord’s limits and is incompatible with many dominant fan theories…
And I’m going to get rid of the backlog in one sitting.
This particular comic is notable because it pairs Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich. Rejoice, shippers, because if you don’t ship Pinkie with anyone on the Mane 6, he’s the only reasonable candidate, and now you have more fuel for your turbines.
