Hand-drew my avatar for this month’s avatar change. My artistic skills haven’t improved one bit when it comes to actual drawing.

Also, this is probably the first time I’ve drawn a peashooter from Plants vs. Zombies since the time I used to play the game between 3rd and 5th grade. Still looks like the drawings I have from those times.

Not to mention that the entire thing is basically an accumulation of some of my past and present interests.

Well, it finally happened. I finally got my new face, so to speak. How do you like it?

As per usual, I've got the typical "band" running across the corners.

What do you think? Should I try a better render using actual 3D software? 'Cause I was just drawing the model out by hand in PDN.

Took nearly half a year of on-and-off work. I decided to take advantage of the time I have free today to just go ahead and finish the thing.

It's pretty much always been the same ol' wordart, a splash of color, and a nice little multicolored rainbow. Originally it was pretty much monochrome with blue, but over time, more and more color was added. Now, the overall design is just feeling repetitive. Like as in, the current design can be traced all the way back to when I was in 7th grade.

It's basically gonna be an evolution of the one I had before this one. I'm leaving it at this for today, complete with its colorful non-gradient placeholder color glory.

So, I have made a new avatar :) A crude but stylized representation of the elements of harmony.

I do admit it is kinda gaudy and I only put in about 10 min of effort into it on a whim. But I think it is kinda neat and it does appear to be standing out from the herd, so to speak.

Software vise I used Deluxe Paint II in CGA mode to make it. DosBox is pretty amazing :)

I’m still kinda iffy on the star design I made though. I’ll probably go back and do a redesign later on.

Softened shadows, clipped out a part I didn't really like.

It isn't time yet for my monthly avatar redraw, but I was bored and made another one anyways. It's similar to the one prior to my current one, but brighter and more rainbows. And the starfield makes a return.

But I ain't gonna reveal it 'till September.
