The Sequel to A Silent Film.
Since its rather obvious that I have far too much free time on my hands, me and my sister decided to watch Disney's 1996 adaptation of Victor Hugo's epic tragedy The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Because when I think Disney, I think Victor Hugo tragedies. Yeah.
I just got back from the 3 Rivers Screenwriters' Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. It would've been a lot more useful for me to have posted this before the conference, but I didn't find out about the conference until it had already started, so I only had time to pack up and drive down there. I'm on the screenwriting panel at Bronycon (run by GaryOak), so I ought to learn something about screenwriting.
If I were to describe my thoughts on Hey Arnold the Jungle Movie in a single word, I believe the best term would simply be.....Satisfaction. I feel that perfectly articulates my thoughts and probably the thoughts of anyone who sees this movie. Even though anyone will also tell you the movie is flawed, at the end of the day, after 15 years of waiting, I can safely say that I feel content after watching this film.
I went to see My Little Pony: The Movie at the cinema today. I had a good time -- in fact, I enjoyed it more than I was expecting. I do think it really helps to be an existing fan and know the characters well, which may be what's getting to some of the negative general-media reviewers. Not perfect, but I was thoroughly entertained. ★★★★
In my opinion, Captain Marvel was... well... it was K. Ironic that Marvel is the weakest MCU Marvel film in a long time, but not excessively bad. It was just K. A solid 5.5/10, would (maybe) see with family again. Overall, anyway. Fun action, fun effects, fun Nick Fury, semi-tolerable story, neat twists, and FUCKING SKRULLS.
Allegro Non Troppo is Italian animator's Bruno Bozzetto's aberrant parody of Walt Disney's magnum opus Fantasia, and has fallen mostly into obscurity.
And after a viewing, I can see why.
Back then, it had been originally set for November 2, 2018 until it was pushed back to March 27, 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, it has been pushed back once again to July 24, 2020. Let's just hope that this pandemic is over as soon as possible.
English Lyrics from the One Piece wiki:
"The ocean sees the beginning of the world,
and the ocean knows the end of the world.
Thus, it calls us towards the way we must take.
Thus, it leads us towards a proper world.
Enveloping pain and suffering,
greatly and kindly wrapping them up.
The ocean sees the beginning of the world,
and the ocean knows the end of the world.
Even if I were to disappear,
Getting seriously excited for seeing Rogue One. I think it's going to be perfect.
You know why? Because even the negative reviews are making me eager to see it. Some of these older reviewers need to seriously consider retirement, good lord.
THE ONE THAT STARTED IT ALL!
John Carpenter's iconic 1978 masterpiece remains a wonderful example of not only prime example of the slasher film genre, but also the film that, more then any other, reinvented the horror genre, codifying and building the dozens of tropes that would come to define all subdivisions of horror and thrillers.
Hey everyone, I'm back with another movie review!
I just got back from the theater, seeing none other than The 5th Wave, another movie I've anticipated for a while. I'm so happy I got to see it, knowing today was the last day it is showing here, and probably everywhere.
