The portals looked the same in season 7 episode 26. I'm betting season 8 we will see the shadow enter Equestria Girls world and we will see what happened to the Sirens and the shadow will return their powers and they will go back through portal and confront Starswirl.
First off, I gotta see if there's a group just for the emotivores in Equestria, since there are apparently four freaking species of them.

I released a new story a couple of weeks ago, and I’d like to actually go through with a follow-up blog this time, having started them for several stories before and then decided not to half way through.
The other night, I literally just wrote an entire nine-page fix of the Sirens going with Sunset and confronting Starswirl about his decisions. It's located here if anyone wants to see it. So, I've played several of the old Harvest Moon games, and not too long ago was able to buy Stardew Valley. Between that and working on Multiple Sunsets, I got an idea: a crossover where one of the sirens ends up with a farm, and has multiple possible romantic partners.
It's not a definite thing. Just a thought. However, while I am thinking of it, I am curious.

Good news, I have another fiction just uploading as I write this, I know it's another Adagio and Sonata fic, but I love their pairing together. They're so cute and snugly. So either way I hope you enjoy it!
Hello everypony it is now time for the next voting contest to begin. If you remember correctly from last time, I will commission an artist to bring the winning choice to life. Each scene will have a character(Both OC and non) from my story confront the main villain, Indigo Frost, ancient wendigo.
I was looking through my follows list and, honestly, I’m not the least bit surprised that a good portion of the writers I follow have my Siren Babe, Adagio Dazzle, as their profile icon. Not the least bit surprised.
I should be excited seeing how much I adore Adagio and the sirens, but judging from the summary, they're not back to get revenge on Sunset and get defeated once more.
Nope, the writers have reformed them. 
It turns out there is no better way for me to change my opinion on a character than to convince myself I had to write them, because wow I did not like Wallflower when I first saw Forgotten Friendship and a few thousand words later I can say that I have no idea what I was thinking.
