Everfree Northwest Days 2 & 3 · 5:27am May 17th, 2016

I wanted to write up a “Day 2” and “Day 3” blog post, but, frankly, I was too tired to do either. But I took notes, so CLEARLY THIS IS TOTALLY CROMULENT.

Day 2 started with me going to Taco Bell for breakfast and getting some box thing for $5. It was actually fairly decent – I don’t get why people complain about Taco Bell. Sure, it only has like five ingredients, but they’re decent ones.

Over the past few days, I've been wondering why I was getting a major uptick in new views/likes on the extremely random Dobbinfic You Are What You Wheat. "Did Present Perfect's review two weeks ago generate a bunch of secondary buzz?" I asked myself. "Or did Equestria's pettiest thief pull off a meta-heist and steal attention the way he

Hey folks! Happy Halloween weekend! I hope you're all getting ready to rot your teeth out and/or dress as sexy fire hydrants. I don't have any big plans plans for the holiday, but on Sunday I'll be heading to London for a meetup with a bunch of other FiMFiction users! It's the first annual DubsCon! I'll be sure to post pictures once it's all over.

Read It Now Reviews #38 – An Old Coot, Ye Cannot Get Ye Flask, Twiley Takes Shining Armor to Linecon, Twilight’s Room is Flooded with Seamen, I Think I Died Today · 12:43am Jul 9th, 2015

A writeoff story came out last night and has already hit the featured story box, Present Perfect released a story with a title based on a thirty year old joke, and curiosity drove me to read a story with a terrible pun for a title in the featured story box.

Another day in the life of the front page of FIMFiction.

Today’s stories:

An Old Coot by Bachiavellian
Ye Cannot Get Ye Flask by Present Perfect
Twiley Takes Shining Armor to Linecon by Ocalhoun

Apologies for my laxity in posting this week; I spent a great deal of time twisting myself in knots over what to work on next, and thus ended up not accomplishing much of anything until yesterday, when I simply decided to go ahead with whatever struck me next.

Consequently, I polished up and published a writeoff story:

As He Lay Dying

Between reading and reviewing entries for the latest writeoff, I managed to get another set of stories reviewed for you folks as well, mostly courtesy of the Royal Guard’s queue. I go into a fair bit of detail about prose in the review for To Drown a Butterfly, as well as talk a bit about meter in poetry in my review of Happy Hearts Warming, so there’s a few things which are a bit different in today’s reviews.

Today’s stories:

Verdict: Guilty · 3:26am Oct 2nd, 2017

DATELINE: the American Midwest. An innocent man struggles to find parking in Local Biggish City, child in tow, wife waiting at home--and all feeling desperate. Back home, the fridge is empty, save for leftovers of dubious vintage; and the pantry is that curious mix of stuffed-to-the-gills yet containing absolutely nothing. To make matters worse, he is ill, and has taken to wearing one of those uncomfortable blue mask thingies for the good of his fellow man.
