The Fifth edition of submitting your character. With the Third season of Equestrian Heroes coming to a close, now more then ever is it time to submit your original characters. Some have been featured heavily like Thunder Quill or Candy catch'em and Amber while others like Quick Fist or Arctic had semi to minor cameos. When will they be featured more? Who knows?

Isn't the whole point of fanfiction supposed to be to unleash your imagination? Is it so wrong that we write several series that are usually family friendly into more, teen and/or mature setting, because that is how we envision it, even if some may not agree?

So, to help me in my continual work on Hero Souls: Awakening, I decided to create a character sheet listing Twilight's powers and skills, as well as some personality points. It was meant as both a reminder of the limit of Twilight's power, and to help me keep facts straight.
In the past, I’ve advocated learning from cinema, trying to use and translate the same techniques into prose. I use terms like “blocking” and “off-screen” to refer to things in prose.
Today, however, I’d like to discuss one of the major differences between visual media and prose. It also happens to be one of prose fiction's greatest weaknesses: scenes and stories with a large number of characters.
Yesterday, I posted an essay about Summer Sun Setback, the princesses, and the fact that the end of the show is neigh. There are, however, a few more thoughts on the episode that I wanted to share that don't quite fit into that box.
The theme of Summer Sun Setback was growth - moving on, and the story reinforces that theme in a lot of little ways in 22 minutes.
As has become tradition right now, I hereby give you the complete mess that is my notes, research, plot outline, character sketches etcetera of 'Brothers 'N Antlers.' Once again you have the opportunity to look inside my head and see what went around in it while I created this story. Welcome back readers, to another entry in Being a Better Writer! Where we are still locked in the Summer of Cliche Writing Advice! That’s right, it isn’t over yet!
I know basic geology, and a bit more on gemology, but not enough to readily do something like this.
Everyone knows about the Pie family at this point I hope. What I specifically need is someone who is pretty knowledgeable about both the different members of the Pie family, and different rocks that would match them. One I came up with on my own is obsidian for Maud, because it has a ridiculous melting point, much like Maud's near saint-like patience.
So recently I've been taking a look at some episodes of MLP seasons 1-3 in preparation for a crossover story that I'm writing, in attempt to get more intimately familiar with the characters during those seasons, and ensure absolute accuracy when I begin writing them in the story. However one character in particular has been rather difficult for me to analyze. And if the title didn't give it away already, It's Apple Bloom.

Just making the odd update to say I'm not dead, as is the norm for these things. Hope my fellow Americans had a good Labor Day and my fellow Non-Americans had a good regular day, laborious or otherwise.
Still working on Compatī. Finally found the inspiration to break down the writer's block that had me stuck there for the better part of the entire year. Up to chapter 48 now, and the end is in sight. I'll have more consistent update blogs for you as that becomes a reality.
