Tumbleweed talking Tumbleweed, Part Two! · 12:42am Jan 22nd, 2018

So, when I originally thought up this blog feature, I was in something of a rut, writing-wise.

That was ... all of a week ago, and I've since started Murder Most Equestrian, which has been a blast to write, and I'm actually gonna start hammering away at that in a little bit. But! I'm sure there's like ... three of you who are interested in this 'behind the scenes' retrospective, so here we go!

Hey folks,

A brief update from last time: I've started working full-time and making strides towards becoming a Fully Functional Adult. So that's pretty cool I guess.

That said, I've accomplished almost nothing on the writing front. I'd hoped to have something ready for Halloween, but between personal life and work, I'm sorry to say that I've got nothing to show for it.

The Quickening: The problems modern Disney has to deal with · 2:52pm Oct 26th, 2018

It was the 80's, Disney was going through one of its darkest times in its animation department and the company lacked the same fame that it had decades ago, but all that term when 3 men entered the company.

Hey folks,

This blog post will hopefully answer some of the questions people had about the story. At the same time, I’m publishing a coda to the story itself, in case you want answers in a more story-bound format.

Dwell on the Past · 3:49am Jan 1st, 2017

As 2016 dies its slow, 24-hour long death, I thought I'd look back on what I've accomplished this year:

• 1 newly published minific collection
• 1 newly created AU with associated group and several other contributing authors
• Over 100,000 words written
• 43 Friendship is Card Games blogs
• Hundreds of cards created

So, that was fun, wasn't it? I honestly consider this to be the best season so far. Why do I think this? Well, I have a few reasons. And I'd be more than happy to list 'em off to you.

Season 5 Retrospective · 12:53am Jan 8th, 2016

Right, so it's been a month since I last checked in, and at that time I said I'd write a couple blog posts. Well, the holiday season came at me like a ton of bricks, what with its real-life obligations and so forth. I wish I had been able to put some time aside for writing, but I'm honestly pretty bad about that. But that's all over and I have more free time than usual. So, like I said last time, I had some thoughts about Season 5, specifically everything after "The Lost Treasure of

No, I'm not doing another poem. There's just too much to talk about, and it can't fit into a string of four-line stanzas. Especially this frankly awesome finale.

So, another season has come and gone. We had some good times, didn't we? Granted, it wasn't perfect, but hey, what is? Now that all is said and done, what have we learned?

Three Year Anniversary Special: Writing Retrospective + AMA · 10:32am Feb 4th, 2015

As of today, I have been a member of this site for three years. Three years! That’s older than some of my relatives. My use of this site has outlasted my enjoyment of the show. To celebrate this “milestone”, I thought I would look back on some of the things I published on this account. Examine what they taught me and how they have held up to time. Further, I thought I would analyze some of the themes and concepts that repeat across multiple stories. I always enjoy such analyses of other

A brief retrospective · 7:44am Aug 30th, 2017

So yeah, after work, me and my roommate sat down and watched the first seven episodes of FiM over wine coolers, and he pointed out some things that I never noticed before, namely in the ones the featured Gilda and Trixie. Before that, he noted how the first three episodes were directly written by Lauren Faust herself, meaning that was how the creator envisioned her characters. In Ticket Master, at one point it seems like Twilight views her friends as an array of boxes yelling at her into utter

Three Years Ago … Jungle’s Pre-Order Went Live · 7:35pm Nov 2nd, 2022

Today I got an interesting reminder. Jungle, the second book in the UNSEC Space trilogy, had its pre-order page go live today, three years ago.

Now, this is relevant because I’m currently hard at work on getting Starforge, the third and final book in that same trilogy, into the same state.

So, I find myself laying awake tonight with a slight case of insomnia... Needless to say, I have decided to take a moment and look back at what I have written already... Or more specifically, what led me to make Scootaloo's parents the way they are in Rebuilding a Crusade.
