Woke up this morning from a dream that I was on some special forces team investigating a cliff-side house during a really bad tropical storm at night. I remember we kept hearing on our radio that our helicopter was going to have to come back and pick us up before it got worse. It’s…actually pretty fun! Doesn’t really re-invent the wheel or anything, the superhero side of the story is fairly standard-ish, but its real strength is in the dynamic between Jaime and the rest of the Reyes family. Only quibbles with story are minor “could’ve expanded a bit more on this” type stuff, but overall it’s a pretty solid 7/10. Nice to have a DC movie that *doesn’t* suck for a change.

So I finally got around to watching *Black Adam*. And having finally seen it in full, I can now safely say that Dwane Johnson's superhero self-insert, the second DCEU movie to revolve around a magic rock is...

At long last, Season 1 of Superman & Lois is finished...man, that felt satisfying. Bad guys get what's coming, heroes come out on top even after the hell they've been put through, broken relationships mended. Left on a cliffhanger, but at least this one doesn't immediately bode ill.

Seriously, this could have worked out so well. Superman disappears for five years as per Returns, and Batman rises in his wake in Gotham. Then Clark comes back, he and Bruce are initially distrustful of each other before teaming up to take down a larger threat.
