Today's topic is a bit of the inverse of the one I wrote last week. I didn't intend for this at first—in fact I had no plans for an inverse article when I sat down last Monday; the appearance of this one is entirely coincidence brought about by something I was reading.
Welcome back readers to another Monday entry of Being a Better Writer! I’ve just got one bit of news to talk about, and then we can cut right to the chase and talk about garbage.
Hey gang.
Its taken a bit--life's been a bit hectic, because sweet merciful heavens 2020 can go fuck itself. So ready for it to not be 2020 anymore. Anyway, this is the long awaited post that roughs out timelines and talks about what stuff from Canon I'm keeping for Rubicon, and where I'm going "NERRP."
The High North is simultaneously one of the most significant and ill-defined areas in Homestria. Geographically, it stretches from the River Frost to the eastern edge of the Yaket Range, filling the land between the Crystal, Yaltay, and Yaket Mountains. Politically speaking, however, the High North is much smaller, the official state of Crystallot only occupying the Vale of the Heart, between the Crystal Mountains and Mount Everstep, and the fields of the Hispaf, between the Yaltay and the
Kaiju of many shapes and size rule our world. They go by many names as well;
Anguirus.
Varan.
Rodan.
Mothra.
Ghidorah.
Manda.
Battra.
Kamacuras.
Gorosaurus.
Zilla.
Kumonga.
Destoroyah.
Titanosaurus.
Godzilla.
Just to name a few.
This one is shorter than the prior few entries and, as such, has had a lighter 2022 editing touch. It's also largely already contained in the extended cut on my previous post on biplane pegasi posted here.
Ok, it’s Number 5 on Reddit. I trust you can guess the pattern. Since I’m reposting this in 2022, this is all about Equestria before its first unification. Notably, this scenario couldn’t work for the pre-history of ANG, as it requires flying pegasi. I also felt like I did more copyediting of this post than earlier entries in the series. My apologies that it’s a wall of text essay instead of being broken up with headers. The original on Reddit had ponymotes to add visual cues.
Boy, it's been a while since I've written a worldbuilding blog post. And this one's gonna be kind of short--there are a couple of possible resources that you might find helpful, and down at the bottom, there's also an update to Science II. I'll mark that somehow so you can skip it if you heeded the warning on Science II.
Picture this, if you will, for a moment. Imagine a young man, an author. Well, a writer who has just recently become an author, having successfully published his first book. He's just been invited to a big convention, where to his excitement, he will be on a panel alongside some of fantasy's greats in writing (if I'm being sparse on details here, forgive me as I don't remember all of them).
Extra Credits is a great Youtube series. In fact, at one point, they were even featured on my Links page. I tend to rotate things there from time to time, and maybe I should be giving them another go.
I posted this elsewhere in a comment discussing the sensicality of the Ponyville hydroelectric power plant ("Hoofer Dam"):
...and thought I'd post it here for y'all, too, seeing as I went ahead and whipped up some headcanon which just happens to be Advancedverse canon too about exactly what that's doing there.
As it says in the title, this is where I share random ideas with the world.
There will be more of these posts.
First off, would anyone like to edit my stories? I would very much appreciate it. Reply or PM to contact me
Anyway, on to rambling.
Where in canon does it say Luna can raise the stars? I don't remember where it says this. She definitely can raise the moon, but when does the cartoon show Luna raising the stars?
I’ve had something on my mind in regards to the Pegasus Device stories, and it occurred to me today that my intended project would be drastically assisted with the help of your questions.
Before we begin, though, I’m going to take a moment to finally define (for everyone but especially myself), what I mean by certain terms.
Rainbow Factory stories are those that focus on Rainbow/Scootaloo as main characters (RF, Rainbow’s Factory, and Weather Worker’s Song).
Hey gang. So since the comment responses were....unanimous in favor of World-building and lore blogs, I figured I'd start off with something small. In this case, I'm talking about the actual process of World Building, Lore, and How it all plays out to make the story you guys know and love.
The crownlands, officially the state of Castellot, are the heart of Homestria, both politically through their association with the ruling House Majesty and geographically through their location in the central Dream Basin. Covering roughly 180 kilometers north-south from the Crystal Mountains to the southern Canter and 190 kilometers east-west from the Cloudsdale Range to the Neighagra, the crownlands occupy some of the richest, most fertile agricultural territory in Homestria, though the
This blog can be seen as supplementary material to Applebloom: Transform and Roll Out! (as well as any proceeding stories set in the same universe). Some of my other stories that may or may not follow the same canon may also have these apply to them. Read on to get a sense of the inhabitants of Equestria in this universe and just what they can do!
I've recently discovered something: some of the best world building I've read in the last few years is coming from porn (or, "clop" for us pony perverts in the know).
Oh dear, what have I done? Why did I ever even write this topic down? What was I thinking? And then I picked it?
Hey all!
After a regretfully long hiatus (again), the next chapter of Pastromorbo is nearing completion! So get ready for a whole load of world building and lore, for its set to be released tomorrow evening, in just under two days!
Happy Monday!
