It’s a big boi, currently coming in at just shy of 12k words as I bring the bonus material back in for a soft landing to merge it with the original material. This means long-awaited awakenings, revelations, continued intrigue, and coping against a backdrop of an ongoing crisis with the Russian Federation Ibexian Ascendancy.
It’s amazing what a little time off can do for your creative juices. I have a couple rounds of editing and need to make two or three minor maps in Photoshop before it’s fully ready, but ready it will be for launch this evening. Hopefully that will be a good way for readers to start their weekends.
I’ve noticed before that when I release multiple chapters of the same story in rapid succession, the later chapters tend to do more poorly than the initial ones in terms of views and comments. Such was the case here as the fifth Firefly chapter was released with very little apparent interest. There were only three comments on the content, and two of them were to complain about my choice of closing quote. 
The last Harmonic Resonance ascension chapter involving Sci-Twi is finally starting to take shape, though I’m finding I have to feel my way through it more than most. The last chapter came to me so quickly, and yet this one isn’t coming fast at all.
Well I did it! I gave Spike a family! It's not the first time it's been done in fan-works, but I'm glad to have joined the mix!
Well, folks... I admit I had a couple of shaky moments not long after I released the new C&C chapter, wondering if I'd just made a grave mistake by bumping the rating and including the ending scene. An upvote was reversed and the first two comments the chapter received regarding that scene were negative, which did not bode well at all.
I launched Harmonic Resonance yesterday, and I’m honestly stunned by how poorly it did. 
Equestria Girls clopfics usually do well, or so I thought; I truly believed this was a surefire feature. I’m honestly not sure what I did wrong in terms of marketing it, either in the story description or the groups I added it to. If anybody has thoughts, feel free to share them.
For two reasons. First, work is picking up again, and it may stay that way through August as we have an important September deadline for my team to hit. Second, I found I needed an extended break from writing after the last two Eros chapters for all the effort I put into them. Needed to mentally rest and emotionally recharge from it before starting something new.
You’re going to get an enormous new chapter of Continuation and Chronicles by this weekend, as I’ve worked obsessively on the latest entry over the past couple days and now have it draft complete at nearly 14,000 words. Which means it’ll probably be up over 15k when all prereads are complete and my various editing passes are done. But with this comes a warning.
I promised I was going to do it in my previous blog, and the first of the updated chapters is ready with two prereads already in. Which is it?
As my surgery pain fades, my libido surges, so it’s time for me to keep a promise and return to the Unleash the Magic series in the leadup to Halloween anniversary of Nightmare Night. And that means, both it and Midnight Rising are going to be worked on almost exclusively over the next several weeks.
Well, folks, I’ve been writing a lot over the past week, but I’ve been splitting my attention between the next Midnight Rising chapter and Feathered Hearts. The former was coming frustratingly slowly as I couldn’t seem to find the correct angle for it, while the latter was coming quite quickly. I was working on the next main story chapter and thought it might be ready within days.
Sorry for the dearth of blog entries of late, and for my online friends, sorry to be scarce. The reason is that I remain rather moody right now, perhaps due to a higher-than-normal testosterone dose that seems to have thrown me for a bit of a loop. I asked for it as an experiment, but maybe it’s just too much of a good thing. Also not helping is continuing difficulties at work, though I’m pleased to report that the release I’ve been working on for well over a month was finally performed
I’m giving it enough time to finish prereads and a couple more editing passes, as well as making a T-rated version once I’m satisfied with the M-rated one. The title is simply Reunions for now, unless I find something better. Meanwhile, the second half of the previously enormous chapter I broke off from it is now approaching 11k words. I’ll aim to have it draft complete this weekend, and launch it a week after the first half. So you’ll get a two C&C chapters in (relatively) quick

A fresh chapter of Feathered Hearts - C&C is on the way within days. I find the words for it coming a lot more readily than Harmonic Resonance, whose climactic chapter remains unfinished at a whopping 16k words and is very likely at this point to be broken up again. But I’ll address that separately, as C&C appears to be giving me the break from HR I need.
Those of you that actually pay attention to the drivel that runs out of my head and onto the screen on occasion know that I love my metaphors. Metaphors are a great way to talk about things without actually talking about them. After a turkey week break from work that wasn’t a full week (had to work Monday) or very restful due to travel, I’m back on the job, both in the office and writing the new C&C chapters. Yes, chapters, as with the total length of this thing now approaching 24,000 words, I’m going to have to break it up one last time. That’s just too long for an adult chapter, even a climactic one. And yes, even one chock full of lore and worldbuilding goodies.
In Ms. Glimmer and the Do-Nothing Prince, Starlight is constantly learning about friendship, and, now, suddenly, love. When things happen in the story and she ends up saying "I felt my heart open," she finds the sensation as confusing as it is profound. This feeling isn't a metaphorical something made up for the story. This is something that I, the author, feel and learned to make happen at will.
