Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! · 3:17pm Jan 4th, 2017

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone out there a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I took some time off to have fun with family and friends and I hope you all had a wonderful time this year.

Now progress update, I have completed my revisions on the plan for 'Family', I had to re-write the ending to fit with the way the story had gone, but I think it was worth it. I will begin writing again soon and hopefully an update will follow after that.

Railway Crusaders Holiday Special · 1:45am Dec 3rd, 2015

The next chapter of Railway Crusaders is almost ready, so now it's time to get started on the Hearths Warming Special! I was halfway through the latest chapter when I realized I forgot Babs Seed! So to that end, the holiday special will star Apple Bloom's Manehattanite cousin learning the true meaning of the season, aboard a true legend of the rails!

I'll give you a couple of hints: It's a magic carpet on a rail, and it never takes a rest.

Holiday update! · 4:39am Dec 24th, 2017

It's that time of the year again! Time to be spent with friends, family, and other loved ones. Gifts are exchanged, good times are had and it's generally a great time of the year. But for some, I understand the holidays bring sadness, harm, and is generally a bad time for some people. If you fall into that category, I sincerely put my heart out to you all that I can. Things will get better, just keep striving to be a better person, and to do better for the yourself and the ones you love!

What I learned today in boating school is:

1. Comments are worthless if the person who reads them disregards them fully.
2. Undergraduate Research Conferences are fun as fuck.
3. Doing a group presentation with bros will make anyone's day.
3.5. Talking shit with your bros lowers stress levels.
4. Mentioning the word "chains" to an education major may make him or her visibly cringe.
5. Receiving your friend's homemade Christmas present (cookies) may make you fall slightly in love.

Yeah, yeah, I know what some of you are thinking: “Inkwell, out of all the carols that you’ve been putting out this month, you’re posting the one from Home Alone 2?” Now before you jump the gun on this, hear me out. Believe it or not, I was actually introduced the the squeal first before the original. Heck, by the time this movie came out, it’ll be about a year before I was even born. And besides, I grew up with the movie as a kid and I didn’t see the first one until years later.

Two incredible things happened in this particular year. The first is that as World War One was raging on, soldiers on both sides decided to have a truce for Christmas in order to not just bury their dead, but to celebrate the holiday. That alone I think is a strong testament in which the message of "Peace on Earth. Good will towards men," was that powerful to bring a war to a halt. As for the other, this was the year in which a carol was published. One in that it wasn't meant to be one. If

Christmas Movie Review: Miracle on 34th Street (1947) · 1:04am Dec 15th, 2018

I absolutely love a good Christmas story.

Perennial favorites of mine include the classic animated special How the Grinch Stole Christmas! along with other classics like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

On the movie side of things, I'm also a big fan of The Muppet Christmas Carol as well. To me, that's my personal favorite telling of Charles Dickens' iconic story of the holiday.

Some context for the following song: in England, Christmas was celebrated in a completely different way that would be near unrecognizable to us. Around this time for example, it was the equivalent of taking Mardi Gras and Halloween, throw both of them in the snowy December, add plenty of alcohol, some drunken mobs and that was Christmas in a nutshell. If anything, since the Medieval ages, the poor held up a practice in which they would go to the front door of some wealthy person to basically
