I glanced up at the cloud cover. It wasn’t late. It was still an hour before evening from what I could tell, but I was already tired. “I’m gonna turn in. I wanna sleep, and I don’t wanna wake up till tomorrow.”

A sombre atmosphere had settled over everything inside. I’d buried myself away as I always had. I could still smell it… the putrid scent of flesh that wasn’t quite right. Of infection that was barely staved off via drugs and frequent washes.

The chapter three part has now been reworked by me, to be self inclusive as a chapter, so it doesn't feel disjointed, and has now been sent off to my editor (or will be when he nips online).
