Kicking around ideas and approaches for the next few pieces of writing, I've realized that, since it will be from Cadance's perspective, I really need to find not only a character voice for her but an actual cadence in writing. Also to flesh out her character further 😒

So, there are a lot of 'somethingverse' shared universe stories here on fimfic, right? I should know, I made one. However, here's soemthing that's always bugged me...
In a comment on Daedalus Aegle’s story, The Marriage of Princess Cadance to House Sparkle, I noted that I find Cadance a fascinating character in general. In canon she is a good pony, trying to do good things for others, with powers that could be problematic (mind-control-ish anyone?)

I just finished semi-finalizing this bit... and it's not the whole story, or even part of it... but I just loved this interaction, so I thought I'd share far ahead of the story being released.

Princess Cadance and The Spring Hearts Garden

I'm going to gloss over the reasons this episode sticks in my craw, not because I feel they're invalid per se, but because unless mine is the first blog or reaction post you've read since Saturday I guarantee I'll have nothing new to say on that front. "Princess Spike" was visually satisfying but narratively lacking, and unlike most episodes based around the "I got so caught up with (x) I failed to pay attention to (y)" premise, catastrophe (y) was so tenuously linked to protagonist action (x)
So here's the issue. The next chapter should be a wedding chapter, where Bug Butt, Love Butt, Moon Butt, Sun Butt, and the luckiest stallion alive get married. I was planning on having two sections, one where Twilight tries to organize it in a sane manner, and one where Chrysalis wrecks everything in the kinkiest way possible. The problem is, I haven't actually decided what sort of changeling shenanigans she's going to get up to in it, and I want it to be good.

True, it would be bad to torture Cadance for no reason... But I HAVE a reason (I don't like her)
People still seem to think I blame Cadance for my OTP's not hooking up.
