Hey all! Time for a regular status update, just like I said. Sadly, I was only able to write 268 words tonight for Synchrony, but at least I finished the opening scene. Which isn't much, but it's the least straightforward part of the chapter so I'm confident the rest will flow much more smoothly once I get back into the groove of things.
I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I mean, FINALLY! It has been about five months, since the idea came! It might have been just four months, but, meh.
As of writing this, the story is submitted and waiting for approval. I hope it passes...

Given that I honestly thought I'd have Dark Horse done back in January, I think its time to wake up and smell the long since fetid corpse of that self-imposed dead-line.
Just thought you guys might to hear that.

I'm quite happy with the response with #7 so far. Seems the vast majority of you loved it, and I'm tickled pink about that since so much important stuff finally paid off this time around. A few tweaks from the sound of it needed, but nowhere near the rewrites that #5 needed or that #6 is, sadly, still in need of.
Sadly, I haven't quite had time this week for diving into that type of editing. 
Because I'm nearly done with #8. 
Just finished up the final rough.
104 765 words, 454 pages of talking heads.
Compared with the last rough that was 184 838 words slash 743 pages? Still a bit on the heavy side, but an impressive trimming of fat nonetheless.
By now you guys know how my guesses tend to turn out, but I think the rest should take about 80-100 K words, spread over about 6-8 chapters.
So, some good news, bad news time.
I just finished my term of employment a few days ago. Contract was up, and I left with a two-pronged glowing new mark on my CV from both the place I actually worked at and the local government agency that put me there, so it was a year well spent. 
The 'problem,' is that I made such an impression, that I'm getting reshuffled into another year-long position ASAP (Tuesday).
12170 words, 33 pages, ~90% done.
I know those numbers doesn't sound so much compared with last time, but there's a lot of polish that's gone into this chapter hidden behind those unassuming numbers.
Not much to say tonight, aside from the fact that you can finally expect a new chapter of Sunset in Ponyville to come out tomorrow!
Oh, and I may not post a status update tomorrow since I'm at kind of a low progress stage of things with Synchrony. But if something happens, I'll be sure to let you all know.
It's the end of the third week of NaPoWriMo, and since I actually did a meaningful amount of work this week I figured I'd actually check in.
I only got 546 words done today, but that's okay - I finished up chapter 7 of Sunset in Ponyville! And, of course, started the initial editing work on the super-long chapter 6 which I will finish and send off to my proper editor tomorrow.
As usual, I will let you all know when it's about to be published.
Another 1,074 words written! I feel better about them than I have some earlier parts in the chapter, so that's good. I also expect to be finished with this chapter tomorrow, which is even better! Which means I should be able to start work on the Synchrony revamp soon...
But for now, my word count total for the month is a solid 12,341. I hope everyone is doing well!
Got 1,043 words written today, though I'm still feeling kinda so-so about the chapter. I was kinda hoping I'd be done by now back when I was envisioning this month... Oh well, it'll be done when it's done.
Surprisingly, even after writing 1,186 words today, the dang Mirror hasn't gotten to Sunset's lab just yet. But I actually know what's going to happen now, meaning that portion should get written tomorrow! Meaning only like two more days before this chapter is done.
Seriously, it's gonna end up breaking 10k words easily. Haven't written a chapter that long since... Oathmaker, I think.
Another slog of a day, to be honest. Writing the Pie sisters still isn't coming as easily as I'd like, though I suppose that still is no surprise. A part of it is also just general uncertainty about how I want the chapter to proceed prior to the one event I know needs to happen.
Well, one way or another I'm confident I'll pull through in the end. Still managed to write 1,015 words at least.
Welp, guess who has egg on her face: me! Mostly because I have not, in fact, gotten to the point where the Mirror-Basement issue has been fully resolved. The path there is simply too meandering, though in a way that I think is interesting at least since it develops some other stuff in the process. The actual conclusion to the problem is likely going to mark the end of the chapter, Sunset's typical post script journal entry notwithstanding.
I only managed to get 1,015 words done on Synchrony today, but that's fine - 1,000 is my usual goal, as most of you know. Finished one section, got halfway through the next; once that's done, it'll just be two more sections and then maybe some quick ending bit and the chapter will be done. It currently sits at 3,520 words; I'm predicting it'll be a little over 6,000 when it's finished. But I'm not really good at predicting these sorts of things I don't think, so who knows.
So! I've decided to just continue doing the daily updates for the time being. I figure if nobody cares enough to ask me to stop, while two people were supportive of me continuing (thank you RisingBluePhoenix, and for all the support in April Rixec!) then I'd just keep going.
Well... despite having some extremely unexpected stress related to my student loans, I somehow managed to write a whopping 1,313 words today. 
Honestly, though, this chapter has just been so much... fun, I wanna say, to write. But more to it... let's just say this chapter of Synchrony has been very 'good' to me in a way.
Anyway, that means my writing for the month is off to a strong start, even though as I said yesterday I'm not setting any word total for myself.
I finished chapter 15 of Synchrony today, like I thought I would! Though to my surprise, it took 1,051 words to do it - it certainly didn't feel like that many as I was writing it.
Still, I'm happy. Another solid day of writing, I've finished up the first run of my current batch of Synchrony, and tomorrow I get to figure out how to start the next chapter of Sunset! Not bad, not bad.
