Review Roundup: July 27th-August 7th · 6:11pm Aug 7th, 2015

Time for your twice-a-month roundup! As an early heads-up, the next roundup will be a few days late, coinciding with my return from the vacation I leave on bright and early tomorrow. Plenty of good stuff in the interim, though, as you'll either find out on Monday (if you go check the blog then) or in two weeks (if you wait for the next roundup post over here). Without further adieu, here's what I've reviewed since I last posted a FiMFic blog:

Review Roundup: May 22nd - June 30th · 12:11am Jul 3rd, 2017

It's Tour de France time! That magical month when I get up early every morning, even though I don't have to go to work. Thank goodness I don't live on the west coast; I don't think I could handle getting up at 5:00 AM (earlier, on mountain stages!) day after day without even the promise of a paycheck to reward me for it.

Review Roundup: August 7th - September 1st · 11:06pm Sep 3rd, 2017

Those of you who keep up with my blog, One Man's Pony Ramblings, already know that I recently spent two weeks on vacation, and was fortunate enough to get a bevy of talented horsewordsmiths to fill in with a mix of reviews, advice, and even a little commentary while I was gone. And if you don't keep up with my blog... well, if it's because you don't care for my reviews, then this sounds like the kind of fortnight that's just made for

Quick update + new knife · 7:47pm Feb 6th, 2016

Since last night, this is what I have finished.

Now then, I still have a few more sessions to go. I haven't even gotten to the fun part that I was looking forward to yet, so it's quite possible that this will be another 10k+ chapter. Yay!

In other news, I traded away that Specter Evo I got for a better knife. A knife from a designer I've been wanting to collect from for awhile now.

Here she is.

Christmas update. · 8:51pm Dec 23rd, 2016

So, I'm in Florida for Christmas.

Yippee.

I am happy, but I haven't had much writing inspiration, until recently. I managed to get a Pokemon - Odyssey chapter up, featuring the beginning of a battle between Chris and Cynthia.

Also, for those expecting a new chapter of Equispartans II, that will be coming soon, as my editor is reviewing several chapters. Once he's done, It'll be published.

And finally, we come to my last update.

Thoughts on Hell or High Water (2016) · 12:36am Dec 21st, 2023

(Rewatched November 24th, 2023.)

I've seen this movie before, though it's been a number of years now. Still holds up very well. :ajsmug:

Taking place in West Texas, "Hell or High Water" is the story of two brothers, Toby (Chris Pine) and Tanner (Ben Foster), who carry out a spree of bank robberies to raise the money to pay off the mortgage on their old family ranch. Investigating the robbers are Texas Rangers Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges) and Alberto Parker (Gil Birmingham).

Review: The Kingdom (2007) · 6:32am Nov 26th, 2015

Peter Berg's intense, 2007 thriller is an unjustly overlooked entry into the terrorism film sub-genre. Being both a politically charged and action packed thriller, Berg creates a film that still holds relevance, even eight years after its release.
