IN WHICH I WAIT FOR THE NOTHING
Ways to un-stick a stuck story by firemoon42
• Do an outline, whatever way works best. Get yourself out of the word soup and know where the story is headed.
• Conflicts and obstacles. Hurt the protagonist, put things in their way, this keeps the story interesting. An easy journey makes the story boring and boring is hard to write.
So if you've been following my blog for awhile, you've probably caught wind that I've been working on a sort of "final edit" of "Grief is the Price We Pay." To clarify, this edit would leave the core plot of the story mostly unchanged (so yes, the ending and the events concerning it would remain largely the same), however, it would:
I've completely written the following story. Expect weekly updates from here on out.
What is most likely to be next on the update roulette? I'm glad you asked! Look no further than this novel in the making:

About a week ago, I posted a blog seeking to survey you all about how much interest there was in seeing a "final edit" of "Grief is the Price We Pay." It was my hope that, once I tallied up all the responses, it would definitely decide whether or not there was enough cause for me to continue with the project.
Sassy Chapter Excerpt
A dull throb in her chest broke Sassy’s concentration. She shifted in the chair, leaned forward, then slowly rotated her left shoulder a few times. The motion was impeded by her tight armor and an almost sticky feeling in the joint, not to mention a burning line of discomfort that worked its way down the left side of her spine.

Still sane, Exile?
Hey, guys!
So yeah, I've been playing a lot of Path of Exile lately. Game's fun. It's free to play on Steam (and Xbox), and the new expansion is coming out on the 7th. So much hype!
Apple Bloom was hoping the success would continue to pass all these potions that were a result of trying to get her cutie mark on to somepony else.
This sentence..... I'm in love with it. I'm in love with it and I want to make many foals with it. This is the most elegant sentence I have ever written.
It conveys excellently four different things:
I've just spent about two hours reading through Humility, and damn do I want to write for it again.
So I'm, uh, gonna start doing that soon.
...when you get this really good idea for a fan fic--this sort of adventure/mystery sort of tale feature Gallus, Spike, their respective pasts, their presents, and details on certain long-absent family members--but you know, deep down, you really don't have the time to commit to such a project?
Especially when you're me, and are trying (and only kind of succeeding?) to cut back on long-form fanfics?
Fun fact, this chapter that I've just posted was surprisingly fun, and my second most recent chapter. It was also a chapter I did at byootfick in the dead of night, cranking out roughly four fifths of the entire chapter in one go (roughly 4000 words). I had NEVER been that motivated. This is ALSO a chapter my editor and best friend highly enjoyed, which surprised me a bit. He certainly likes my work, but this was much higher praising than I was used to, which made me a little suspicious, but
No, really, I can. Even when I haven't had much of anything to show for it lately, I'm writing and that does mean that I haven't quit. I've never been the best at using these blogs to connect to people like other users on the site, but if you had been worried that I had forgotten something, downgraded to a lurker, or something else, then I haven't. What I have been doing is working on packing and everything else that comes with a move, and have been working on various tasks for this over the
I haven't done an AMA in a while. This blog is meant to rectify that. Go on and ask me something in the comments! However many questions you want, I guess. I don't care. Though, don't ask me about story updates. Those are in progress! Please don't ask me to spoil my stories either. If there's some sort of lore that you're interested in that is a spoiler you really wanna know about, PM me.
Happy Hearth's Warming to all, and to all a good night, day, morning, evening, brunch, mid-afternoon, tea time, lunch break--whatever time zone it is you happen to be reading this in!
