Go read the new version! The chapters that are most changed are five, interlude four, and chapter ten. Now that all that effort is done, I can get back to actively writing it and fixing the other stories in need of TLC for print. Also, 100+ upvotes? How did that happen?
I have finished a chapter for a story and sent it off to my editors. Next up, a chapter that needs an ending scene and a chapter that was written in advance. That's right, I've got three updates that will be ready in a short amount of time. What story is it on, you ask?

Ugh. Literally everything was delayed for three months due to difficulties with my computer. I now have a laptop again, though, so I can finally get back to writing. Sadly, I'm uncertain when any of my FimFic specific stories will be updated, but I'm hoping one of my off-site stories can get updated by the end of next month. I just made some good progress on upcoming chapters. I did some small writing here and there every now and then, but I didn't do this much writing in one go since before the passing of my Grandpa.

That's how many words Chapter 24 for What They Expect to Give currently has. That's about 38 pages. And I'm still not done.
I did KINDA find a natural stopping point about 3-4k words ago, but I'd rather just get it out as one update. I've been kinda wanting to reach this point since I first started this story. Er, I mean, I want to reach all the things I've been planning for this story, but this was a huge milestone I reached. I didn't want to break that up in parts.
It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I want to apologise for not keeping you guys up to date on what’s happening. I understand I don’t have a true obligation to this site or my fan fictions, but I do understand that many of you have spent time reading my work in the past. I don’t know how many of you are still waiting on me. I do feel that being inactive for so long has discouraged many of you to stop waiting on me and moved your attention to something else. I don’t blame you.
Rework the beginning so that I got rid of the cringe of the store, but it’s still allows for establishing the names of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash for the later part of the chapter. People who have already read this will want to reread the first eight paragraphs at the beginning since that’s where the story has changed.
I’ve reworked the chapters, adding in descriptive scenes that flow naturally with the story, to better paint a picture of the world. I’ve also refined certain points to make it flow better narratively. You may wanna give the entire story a reread, but it’s not necessary. It’s only if you’re curious about how I use the descriptive text elements to better paint a picture of what was happening. I am actually quite proud of it. I realized that while working on Chapter 12, Tea Time with Discord, I accidentally left out a crucial part of the story during revisions. This section covered Discord’s discussion with Simon about his performance during what we could call the “trial”—where Simon addressed the Main Six’s treatment of Cozy Glow. Discord emphasized how Simon’s raw, unfiltered reaction was chaos in its purest form, which added a lot of depth to their interaction.

Apparently, when I was trying to shift from third-person present tense narration to first-person past tense, I made a lot of glaring tense errors from the moment Simon was caught by Rainbow Dash. This oversight has caused inconsistency in the narrative style, which may have led to confusion. I urge you to revisit this chapter, as it has now been fully corrected to align with the intended perspective.
