Finally—finally got my dang dentist appointment on Thursday.

Actually had do some sort of temporary patch thingy where they stuffed the tooth full of antibiotics because the roots were so infected. Let me tell you, friction burned tooth emalj and old puss? Not a fragrance I'd recommend.

Still have the actual root-canal to be done... but that's January's Lord Of Dorkness' problem to deal with. Sucks to be you, future me!

The good: I'm back. It took two freakin' weeks of sick-leave I frankly don't remember much of, but I'm back.

The bad: I still wouldn't call myself outright well since I still have a frightful cough, and most of the strength I've regained both physically and mentally I've frankly had to use on the day job.

Thus, the ugly: Chapter #9 being done, polished up AND proofread by Monday seems... unlikely.

I'm back! I have a new computer now! It's still gonna take a couple days for me to get back to writing and editing, but I'm back!

I wrote again today, and managed to get 1,125 words done! Although to be honest the particular section I'm working on hasn't really... satisfied me fully. I might change, but not until I start the process to publish it. So not for awhile.

Word total for the month is now 10,224! I do kinda hope I can finish this chapter soon, though. I want as much time as I need to work on Synchrony.

Somehow managed to get 1,015 words done today even though I was pretty tired throughout. Haven't finished the chapter yet, but that's no big deal. I think I'm basically at the 'smooth sailing' point at least.

Current word count is 4,286 out of 29,000. Still doing well. I hope you all have been having a solid month too.

Only 1,042 words today, but I'm not complaining. And it looks like this chapter of Synchrony is gonna be fairly short, which is nice. Not much else to say.

I, uh, decided to take a day off today. So the word total remains the same at 9,099. I relaxed a bit, and I hope you all did too.

Once again, not much to say. The chapter is proceeding smoothly - another 1,063 words added to the total.

Not much to say - 1,055 words written for Sunset today. That's 4,260 for the chapter total, though I honestly can't quite see the end of it in sight just yet. The story it's telling might have to be split up, I don't know.

In the end, I decided to take the day off after all - meaning my total word count for May is officially 31,104.

For the coming month of June, as I do expect to require a significant amount of time to edit Synchrony, I've decided not to make a goal for the month. I will, however, continue to attempt 1,000 words a day for each day that I'm not focused on editing. And, of course, I will continue my nightly update blogs.

So yeah, it's 2022. WHich feels like 2021. Which isn't the best place to be. Though honestly I continue to be stupidly lucky in that things are going well-ish on my end, if a bit ... quiet. As sadly there's not much opportunity to go out and Do Things or Go Places, for any number of reasons. And while having a Real People Job(tm) is nice, it puts me on an actual ... schedule, as opposed to my aimless meanderings back during the summer of 2020.

1,298 words written today, finally finishing the non-diary portion of the chapter. Which now totals 11,076 words.

Feels good to know that's finally done. I'm going to try to get the full diary entry done tomorrow, and then I'll probably take the rest of the day off or something.

Total for April is now 24,540!

Just as expected, tonight was a much smoother night for writing Synchrony - I managed to get 1,061 words written, nearly completing two more scenes! Only like 6 or 7 more to go, so with luck I will be able to finish it sometime next week.

The chapter currently stands at 1,329 words total.

Today was very productive for me, 1,201 words written! The chapter hasn't quite finished, but I am at that point where I know more or less exactly what needs to go down to wrap it up. Meaning it won't be long before I'm starting another chapter of Sunset.

May's word count total is now 12,880! Not long before I'll have earned a day off. Which will probably be spent planning things out.

Hey all! Time for a regular status update, just like I said. Sadly, I was only able to write 268 words tonight for Synchrony, but at least I finished the opening scene. Which isn't much, but it's the least straightforward part of the chapter so I'm confident the rest will flow much more smoothly once I get back into the groove of things.
