There are monsters so hated, so reviled by ponies that even thousands of years after they vanished, many ponies feel horror just looking at their pictures. For they represent dark times, well before the founding of Equestria. When all of ponykind was subjugated under a horrific, intelligent and powerful beast.

I think one explanation for my seeming competence/adequacy is that I am a selective writer. When I write something that is bad, I have enough sense to either immediately shelve it, or post it on an alt.
Thanks to Big Mac, Spike and Discord's O&O sessions, Twilight gets the idea to try training and simulating different scenarios for the Elements of Harmony and their allies to Live Action Role Play. And of course, one of those is What If Twilight Turned Evil?

There's an eternal question throughout the fandom, with many different answers: "What do Ponies do with their poop?" But has anyone tried to make a plot out of it? Well... If they have, I don't know about it. But here's my take on this:
As a tweak to the canon, it turns out that Celestia and Luna were not the only alicorns... They're just the only ones who didn't go insane or evil. They had eight siblings, mares and stallions, who were all alicorns but fell apart when faced with the challenges of their powers or life in general. Luna and Celestia sealed them up before they could do any real harm and gradually they were forgotten...
I decided to write up the full legend:
Grogar had three sons, whom he named Takam, Heidrun, and Yang (each after a goat deity). He gifted them each a bit of his power and gave them responsibility over each tribe of Ponies. But eventually, each fell in love with a mare of each tribe, married her, and had children.
Twilight Sparkle is in Golden Oaks Library, hoping to get away from the hardcore partying on the night of the Summer Sun Festival. She goes downstairs, fumbling in the dark as her horn isn't casting much light.
Also, Pinkie Pie is bouncing after her.

In the past, each tribe of Ponies developed their own way of controlling the sun and Moon (or making replacements). The unicorns just got there first.
The Earth ponies constructed a gigantic Stonehenge like structure to channel their magic through to move the sun and moon. Or rather, move the Earth itself around the other bodies.
I have the... let's go with "honor" of being a mod on Estee's Discord server. (I volunteered to keep the place from bursting into flames one weekend while Estee needed to be elsewhere and they haven't let me give the authority back since.) One of the more fun elements of the server is Tipper posting silly yet intriguing story prompts in the headcanon discussion channel.

Finally, the happy day arrives, and Twilight and Shepherd go to the hospital. Twilight is breathing hard, as she goes through labor. Shepherd squeezes her hoof comforting as Nurse Redheart stands on the other side of the bed.
Nurse Redheart: “Don’t worry Princess, you’re doing fine. You’re already dilating, which is very good! Now, we’ll start with the low intensity pain killers and then apply the higher grade stuff as you-”
One of the most frustrating parts about Flash Sentry is that he was made WAY too bland. So bland that there wasn't a reason for Twilight to actually fall for him. Not until later movies and episodes actually GAVE him some.
A long time ago, I tried adapting one of my original fiction concepts into a pony alternate universe. As usual at the time, I posted a lot in a particular forum to get feedback on my story concepts and ideas. For those interested, I took the relevant post and adapted into a blog for your perusal.
One Hearts and Hooves Day, Princess Twilight is feeling very down due to being single. Dash somehow gets Flash Sentry to visit from the Crystal Empire to considering becoming head of Twilight's guard, and they hit it off immediately. Rarity is impressed... And then mystified when she learns that even more couples in Ponyville have gotten together thanks to Rainbow Dash!
How can this be?! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!

Based on an idea by my friend Fusion Blaster, a concept for a romantic comedy starring Applejack:
Building on the idea of the Apples being landed gentry (which was realized perfectly by FanofEverything in https://www.fimfiction.net/story/467693/noblesse-applige), Applejack did have to put her charm school education with her Orange family relatives to use: Namely by going off and schmoozing with other noble foals.
According to Lauren Faust, Earth Ponies draw on the life energy of the planet itself to fuel their abilities. This ranges from super strength and endurance, to communication and control over flora and fauna, to Earth bending, healing, increased longevity (Granny Smith is easily two centuries old) and enhanced sensory perception (Pinkie Sense).
In other words they are using life energy. Or as is known in real life martial arts, ki.
