Incoming! We have another entry into The Dusk Guard Saga Art Contest! A second entry from Bugsydor!
All right! Announcements first.
First of all, there will be no chapter update on Beyond the Borderlands this Friday. I'm taking a break to build up my buffer as well as give the readers a chance to catch up.
So, just minutes ago, as of the time I write this, I put the finishing touches on the last author's note for The Dusk Guard Saga: Hunter/Hunted.
What a project.
Now, I know most of you are going to be switching out of this tab and over to the story proper for the final chapter, because well ... who wouldn't? And I'm posting these one after another. But after you've read the final chapter, left your comments, etc etc, well ... I hope you make it back here to read my final thoughts.
Hey readers! You'll be happy to hear that all the Hunter/Hunted chapters are ready and waiting to go! How many more are there? Well, I won't say, but they've all been uploaded and are at the ready!
Just in time too, since we're sitting at 99 upvotes (which I'm sure is driving some of you a little mad). The chapters are loaded and ready as we speed to the conclusion of this adventure!
Anyway, I've gotta run! Work shifts call!
Yeesh, I know you guys have been waiting a while for this. And to be fair, it's taken me far too long to sit down and do this. And of course, now I have more unwelcome news ... but not what you would expect, I think.
Anyway, you know what, let me just announce the winners nice and fast, and then we can get to the unwelcome news.
What if thestrals/bat ponies don't actually exist in MLP-verse?
Literally the only night we've seen them in the canon FiM universe, was nightmare night, a night dedicated to tricks and treats and dressing up!
They were totally just enchanted pegasi guards, and our fandom just freaking took and ROLLED WITH IT.
Hey everyone, just letting people know I'm doing an audiobook of changeling of the guard by vdrake77
the first chapter can be found here
During the Canterlot Invasion...
Stinger and Blue trotted through the back alleys. As they walked, a guard turned the corner and grabbed Stinger’s head and pushed it down onto a brick, chipping his fangs.
Blue immediately took down the guard and grabbed Stinger. “Oh shoot... you’re bleeding!”
“Y-Yeah! No shi—”
So I reached the nineteen chapter for writing the summary and after looking over the title I gave it and given date... I became confused about what exactly was I planning this chapter to about... but then I remembered a particular detail I wrote during Chapter 12: Stone to Sand.
We have two more entries slipping in before the deadline (tonight at Midnight). We have an entry from ReaderRyn:
The Dusk Guard VS The Crystal Golem by ReaderRyn
And then we have this entry from Commander_C22:
Hey everyone! Another chapter up today, bringing us to number eight of [REDACTED]! I've been enjoying the comments, how have all of you been enjoying the story thus far? How's everyone enjoying Blade and her cohorts? Any favorite characters cementing themselves yet?
Memoirs of a Royal Guard 2nd Edition and Physical Printing
I'm about halfway through the MoaRG 2nd edition. I've been making some tweaks here and there to tie it better to the stories that follow it without damaging what was originally written. I'm not George Lucas!
Just a quick fimfic update for you all. Alpha is about two-thirds of the way done. Then the beta starts, and then it can be released! I'll be picking a day soon. The Dusk Guard are coming!
In the meantime, I figured I'd drop some future info on you, since I've got a tentative title down for the fifth part of the saga at last. So I can officially release that the titles of books four through six are:
If you haven't noticed yet! Go read and let me know what you think, feedback and commentary are much appreciated!
An unexpected birthday discovery! This is done on an early '90s cam corder but still. Guards is just reliably solid, which is why I think it's one of the most constant Disc adaptions next to Wyrd Sisters. It's also just neat to see hangdog burnout Vimes before he became street hardened noirish bastard with a heart of goldish Commander Vimes.
The Round Robin Reviews are written by different groups and reviewers taking turns each week. If you are a story reviewer or part of a group that reviews stories and would be interested in joining the Round Robin Reviews, feel free to PM me (Wanderer D), Professor Plum, or ElDorado to tell us about it.
I'm tagging Rise this time rather than Beyond, since one is a sequel to the other, and art from the series is the theme of the contest, rather than the story.
Just a quick, mid-week reminder of The Dusk Guard Saga fan art contest!
Here's the recap, for those who missed it:
The Contest
So, even though I am not writing right now, I've got a good backlog so as well as it being the one year anniversery for Memories, I am posting another chapter of Canterlot in Flame!
So, I am going to publish Canterlot in Flames, Chapter 7: Drums in the deep, here shortly. Likely sometime tonight, since it's the middle of the day and I am pretty sure not all of my subscribers are out of school yet like I am.
So, a few things about this chapter.
