You can put your normal-length story on fimfiction.net the normal way, OR use the contest's unusual blog option that lets you enter a story under 1000 words.
Last time I checked, only one story has been entered so far, so I guess your chances are wide open!

Hey readers! I've got two items of good news for you today!
The first? Well, you know that collection of short stories I wrote? You know, the one called Unusual Events: A "Short" Story Collection on account of most of the stories not really being that short?

Okay, this needs a bit of explanation, but it’s an odd one. So things have been going pretty well sales-wise lately. Colony and Shadow of an Empire just keep ticking away copies, finally moving my book income from “Spare change” to “rent payment.” Or at least, they were, save for this last week.
Hey guys, just dropping a quick heads up here. While I've been at work getting Colony's second Alpha ready to go (3/4ths of the way done!), I've also got the launch of Unusual Events: A "Short" Story Collection happening on January 26th!

classes will be wrapping up for the semester soon so I'll have a lot more free time soon. I'll be taking summer courses online, but they won't take up as much of my time as full-time college does.
