I am going into this season finale with only one real expectation, to end up depressed at the end, not by the story itself, but by what rules of the world it will establish and by the narrative tools it will end up using that in of it themselves are not depressing, but are ones that I myself, get depressed by. As such, I expect 99.9% of the rest of the viewers to love it while I shall, not. :-(

Ever since she debuted as a brilliant villain in the Season 5 premiere, multiple ingenious background appearances throughout that season, and a pulse pounding finale where she matched Twilight horn for horn and found herself redeemed, Starlight Glimmer has been quite the polarizing character. Fans either seem to love her or hate her. One former brony in my circle of friends went so far as to stop watching because of her.

Well, everyone, I'm nearly finished with Season 6. The only episode I haven't watched is the finale, and honestly, I'm not looking forward to it at all, considering that of the four characters the episode stars (Starlight, Trixie, Discord, Thorax), the only character I sort of like is Discord, since he at least manages to make me laugh. This is the closest my nickname for Starlight Glimmer (who I call Discount Twilight BTW) got to being canon:

At the 1:27 mark, Trixie calls Starlight "Mini-Twilight", which sounds like "Discount Twilight". I would start calling her Mini-Twilight from now on but that would upset a lot of unicorns suffering from a growth disorder.
