Incredible documentary series on Netflix. Trying to sort out how I feel about it.
. . . . Somewhere on Earth Prime. . . .
An odd looking alicorn pops into existence in a rather bland, not to mention messy, looking room. A rack of training swords hangs on one wall, next to a futon mat that is rolled out on the floor, a tatty pile of blankets half balled up on top of it, along with some old, flattened pillows.
As I am writing this, I am sitting here watching the pale yellow brilliance of the sun arc slowly to the edge of the western horizon. In a moment, that warm orb of luminescence will sink beneath the atmospheric haze of the distant plains, gone from my view. Gone, too, will be the light it brought with it, as well as its warmth and the way it colored the sky and landscape in a harmonious spectrum of blue and green and yellow and red hues. In its place, night will come, the warmth replaced with
Since some one already asked and i obliged here's the synopsis of the story, I submitted it after making some tweaks and such, and now would like to share it. If you wanna wait until the story gets approved but dont wanna come back or miss this, no worries it will be put in the long subscription, and i will put spoiler bars so you can have that option.
Synopsis
I don't have anything big to report in relation to the site. In the last month and a half since I dropped a chapter, I haven't even gotten to think about writing anything. The constant workload from school and the hunt for employment have completely precluded all personal projects. Hate to say it, but it might be a few more months before you see anything else out of me. Just know that I am not abandoning anything and still fully intend to keep writing here. Those birbs still have a lot
Technically, I wanted to get her commissioned from one of the big bat pony artists like MoonSugarStars, but seeing as many of them need reference images...I finally got up my courage and drew a pony for the first time. It actually didn't turn out quite so bad as I thought it would.
It's probably no surprise to you, dear reader, that I am something of a nerd. I mean, it takes a special sort of personality to write hundreds of thousands of words of fanfic based on a kid's cartoon, right?
Also, I dig Star Trek. Or, uh, parts of Star Trek. I hear good things about Discovery, but I maintain that the best Trek show was Deep Space Nine. And the best character on Deep Space Nine (if not all of Star Trek)?
Morn.
Length is one of those tricky things when it comes to writing. Humanity has written stories as short as the (most likely apocryphal) Ernest Hemingway tale of "For Sale: Baby shoes. Never worn.", to the current world record holder for longest novel, "In Search of Lost Time".
Whew...
There is a lot of work going on.. A lot of people going on vacation, other sick, and I am working almost all by my lonesome in the burning sun... At least the money is good.
Took a late night walk with some family members, and it reminded me of a discussion I had with them a month or so ago.
We have a habit of associating things like good and evil with light and dark. I don't think I need to elaborate on which is which. I think a large part of it has to do with our status as primarily diurnal creatures. Day and light are open and familiar to us; darkness, by contrast, limits our field of view, and leaves us more vulnerable to danger.
So... I took a long time making a decision on this point, because I was worried the result would be potentially confusing for readers... but I thought it over, and I think it is the lesser of two evils in the end.
During the clean up of the Changeling assault on Canterlot, Shepherd finds a Changeling body near some rubble. He kneels down, looking upon the Changeling. Luna trots up alongside him.
Luna: "... What are you thinking, Shepherd?"
Shepherd: "I don't know. What do you think I am thinking?"
Luna: "Despite this being our enemy, you feel sad at his passing?"
So... as those who read the summary of Chapters of a Revamped Tome know, my AU in general is meant to retool parts not only of the animated series (both My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls), but also certain parts of expanded media elements.
I'm releasing 5 stories there this month. All original fiction.
They are... happy ending stories only.
No gore. No sex. No gross. No sad. Only stories amounting to 20K words that end on a positive note, rated E or T. It was... a challenge for me, to say the least. So, if ya wanna see what happens when I write outside my comfort zone, it's $7 per month, and the latest issue releases tomorrow. Today's your last day to sign up for that.
So... to begin with a disclaimer, I'm well-aware that the theory I'm about to propose may very well have been proposed by other users before, considering it could perhaps be seen as an obvious conclusion to make. And considering I haven't yet watched the piece of media that it's featured in, it may also be completely wrong, depending on the specific artifact's mechanics.
But this thought just came to me today, and I couldn't help but dwell upon it once it crossed my mind.
One of my readers alerted me recently that a contest for fanfiction is currently taking place on Inkitt right now and is lasting until the 29th for collecting votes for stories. After painstakingly uploading every chapter of The Lost Element to be entered, I found that a bizarre protocol in indentations prevented the story from being eligible. Instead, I entered what is currently my highest rated work, Musings of a Fallen Princess.
You know, technically that's not wrong. Theologically speaking. Lucifer demanding to be seen as the equal of Man, and all that.
It does raise some interesting, further points about just how The Fall actually happened, though, doesn't it?
