Behind the Story: Forgotten Memories · 4:05pm Sep 25th, 2022

This story isn’t one of my greatest works, and in fact might need a little more added to it, just some minor context, it didn’t even come from all too interesting a place, but this is my duty and my blog views are tanking because my music blogs don’t really have an audience. So… I’m prepared to talk about Forgotten Memories.

Billboard Breakdown: 1960 · 3:04am Nov 23rd, 2022

All errors that appear in here are my own.

Sorry this took so long, but this took a while to write.

The new decade, and not much musical change quite yet. In fact, the general status of this year almost seems to be a step back in terms of musical genre diversity. 1960, in total, has fewer genres appearing than 1958 and 1959. The genres are overall less ‘out there’, and even the strangest genres are nothing like Tarentella or Exotica from years prior.

G5’s Sure Fun · 1:24pm Oct 21st, 2021

Fair warning before I get into this, there will be mentions of politics in this Blog Post. If you don’t wish to read all that, you have been warned.

I wasn’t originally going to do this, but after seeing both FOX News and The Daily Mail talk about G5, as well as my “friend” from school apparently writing a review on it, I figured I’d get into it sooner or later.

Now that this story has finished its run and has officially received slightly more views than Soul Vernacular gets in a year, it’s time to talk about it.

Update on the Last Blog Post · 3:34pm Apr 1st, 2022

I mentioned in my last blog post that I’d come back around noon and try and get my feelings straight.

So, I have.

And I come baring news:

That last blog post was an April Fools’ joke. I’m still very much girl, and that entire last post is meant to be satire.

Behind the Story: Zephyrina/Zipp · 2:43am Mar 17th, 2022

Wow? Sinbin? This is probably the single best reaction I’ve gotten on any story I’ve ever written. I remember when I was excited to get 50 views on a piece, and now I’ve hit Sinbin, so thanks to everyone who contributed to that goal! I can check that one off my FiMFic bucket list.

I find this funny mainly because this story was written out of a place of disappointment.

Behind the Story: Raining. · 3:00am Oct 1st, 2021

This story sure took a while, didn’t it?

Well, it’s uploaded now, and despite its disappointing reaction, I’m still going to talk about it.

Sometimes, you’ll write a story that hits the highest marks on your own personal grading scale, and that’ll become the standard to judge future stories by until you write another story that exceeds is. For me, Raining. is that story. I feel like it took everything I had formed my writing identity around, and just did it the best.

On Friendship · 5:04am Feb 7th, 2023

I haven’t written one of these blog posts in a while, but I feel like I learned today what true friendship is.

I might be wrong, but it suddenly dawned on me that I felt like I’d been a legitimate friend to someone I met, for the first time since I could remember.

That might sound a little pretentious, “look at me, I’m true friends with this person I met, L for you,” but it legitimately felt good, and I’d fucking do it again, to quote that line.

Idea, Looking for Input · 10:07am Apr 20th, 2022

I had this idea stewing, but I haven’t really sat down and worked on it. I’ve gone on record stating that the little DJ preambles in FO:E are some of my favorite parts of the story. So, I thought to myself, what if the DJ parts were the story? Better yet, what if it was an audio drama?

Tangled Up In Blues Reading Finished · 4:35pm Jun 15th, 2021

So, I was debating whether to post this because of my unlisted link, but this one's the one I've actually uploaded publicly.

Also, because nobody gave me any feedback, but I wanted to do it, so I did it anyways. Chapter one, at least.

So, here's the first chapter of Tangled Up In Blues read by me.

I’ve Hit a Milestone! · 1:12am May 20th, 2021

I was just browsing my stories earlier today when I found something really cool. It turns out that The Endless Cycle has just hit 500 views! I’m so glad that the story I put an hour of my morning into 2 years ago hit 500 views recently.

It is absolutely my first story to hit 500 views. Hurt? Wait, what’s that story? I don’t remember writing it.

I really didn’t expect much from this release, much less another featured story like I tended to get before I took a several month break. So uh, thanks 65 of you for reading my batshit insane story.

Well, time to do what I tend to do. Let’s take this thing apart.

100 Follower Special! A Lot of Info About the Author · 1:36pm Jul 18th, 2022

So, around 5-6 months ago, I did a ‘50 Questions’ thing to give people some info about me because I wanted to. I don’t know where I found the original, but I was browsing Themaskedferret’s profile earlier (at like 6AM) and found out about a slightly different list of 50 questions. I had already planned to do the 50 I’d already done for my 18th birthday, see what had changed, what hadn’t. I read through them, and realized

Behind the Story: Story of Us · 2:47am Sep 3rd, 2021

I feel a little strange writing these sorts of things for speedwrites.

I mean, I wrote it in an hour, there was no preconceptional or conceptual phase. There is only an execution, writing, and review phase.

But I’m still going to damn well try.

The Joy of Creating · 2:47am Mar 8th, 2022

I’ve had a bad week recently, lots of political nonsense I’ve overheard and my school where the building is ever-so-slightly falling apart a little more each day.

Being on the spectrum, I do not take sudden shifts in my daily routine very well. I’ve been mighty irritated these past couple of days. However, there’s always been one thing that’s been keeping me in a sound(ish) state of mind, and that’s the joy of creating.

Ranking My Stories · 3:08pm Jul 8th, 2021

25 stories. I can’t believe I’ve written 25 stories in (kinda) horse words. Some are unfinished, some are cancelled, and not all of them were made equal. I’ve had hits and misses, and I wanted to vaguely collect my thoughts into what I think would be a nice top 25 list.

Technically speaking, I’ve actually published 26 stories, I’ve just deleted my first one because a rewrite of it is present on my profile anyhow.

Settle in for Dashie’s storytime everypony, I’ve got some things I want to talk about.

I used to be an active participant on the series of websites known as Fandom. I jumped from forum to forum, but I found my home at some point on the Wings of Fire Wiki. I stayed there for a while.

Looking back on those days, that Wiki sucks. I don’t regret my time spent there, and I learned some life lessons I carry with me to this day, it was instrumental in making me who I am today.

This story’s an interesting one.

So, I declared that I was going to release a story every month, and while I have another story hopefully coming sometime when I figure out how the concept’s going to flow, I didn’t want to screw that up almost immediately.

Behind the Story: What Were They? · 11:43pm Aug 6th, 2021

It only just now occurred to me that I never did one of these for this story. I don’t know why.

This story was written simply and came from a simple place.

I’m pretty sure anyone who reads my blogs knows that I’ve joined Quills and Sofas Speedwriting. I was talking with The Red Parade in the Discord when he mentioned a possible prompt for the Pillars Shipping Contest that was too good to pass up.
