For those of you who don't know (or are just coming across this blog by chance), I've been wanting to use my 25th birthday this year to make a difference by inducing lactation so that I can donate my milk to babies in need. Rhythm and Rhyme was originally a much different story. It always centered around Button Mash and Sweetie Belle, maybe more so than the final product, but it has its roots going back many a year. I recall it being the first near-future Ponyville story I ever devised, and yet, it came out as one of the last.

So... I have to say, I’m genuinely surprised at how well “Just a Bat... a Bat on the Hunt for Headpats!” Was received. It’s something I spent probably 5 minutes planning and an hour writing, and I honestly didn’t expect it to do well at all. It turns out that making writing a habit is hard. It turns out that I am easily distractible. And so it turns out that this story took six weeks instead of four to update, and I had to update on Sunday so I would have enough time to proof-read Chapter 5, and Chapter 6 still isn’t completely rough-drafted.

I believe the term for this is “Planning Fallacy.”
