So, every so often, I take a look at what's featured and popular on this site just to see where the trends currently are. I don't really read a lot of FiM based fic these days, since, as I've stated, I'm more interested in Equestria Girls. But I like to know what's going on story-wise around here and I've noticed something that kind of irritates me.
Hey there reader wanna be as popular as me? Of course you don't. Aim higher for God's sake. That said there are two pieces of wisdom I want to pass on to you. That's right, a guy who in any writing contest is a permanent resident in the cellar (actually I don't mind it down here because typically I just send in rough drafts and at least I didn't get first place) has writing advice.
So, the way I was intending to organize this story was to make each chapter cover one day. Being as this is a mundane, slice-of-life type tale, I felt that would make the most sense. But since not every day would be noteworthy, and not every day that was noteworthy could fill a chapter as long as the first, I am a bit stumped as to how to proceed. The way I see it, there are two three options:

I've been playing best fantasy 4X Endless Legend again, and today I was thinking about what an MLP/Endless Legend crossover might entail. But the premise of the game -- that the planet of Augria is gradually entering a permanent ice age -- is sort of ruined if the unicorns/alicorns can control the sun and the moon.

Hello fellow friends. Long time no see. To cut to the chase, a fellow I know by the name of Thought Prism has finished writing his original fiction novel, and he needs our help. His blog post explains the details, but the simple summary is that the publisher crowdsources contracts, offering them to authors
'Cause I'm recovering from a minor surgery and my leg has stitches in it so I decided to finish something else. Namely, editing an interlude for a story long overdue for something of a wakeup. It's my bed-ridden recovery, I get to pick between editing and actually writing some stuff.
I've revised up to the Part 3 of the "Husband of Hers" chapters so cut me a break, thankies.
Jeez, I've been coming here a lot, haven't I? Well, I've got some good news! My next chapter has been finalized, so I now have a total of three chapters done and backlogged. Further still, my editor REALLY loved the latest one I did, so that was a huge deal for me.
On top of that, I've started work on yet another chapter that I'll hopefully get done some time soon. I'm really gonna try to ride this creativity streak as long as I possibly can.
Today marks one full decade since I first joined this site. I really just cannot express how grateful I am to have discovered it (all thanks to falling down a google rabbit-hole and discovering a fic that damn near changed my entire view on life
) I just can't believe its been ten years though. It feels like yesterday, but also a lifetime ago, like I've always known what it felt like to log into fimfiction and open up a good story.
