The next chapter is almost ready. I've got a tiny bit more to add - gonna try and do that tonight. Fingers crossed for release on Friday.
As "A Shimmering New Year" approaches one thousand views for its first chapter, so I am almost done writing the fifth.
Some folks won't like it because an unpopular character shows up. Others might like it because popular characters do show up. Those who do like it? Good for you. Those who don't? That's your business, not mine.
Fingers crossed for the weekend.
Yeah, due to the demands of my job at Amazon, the next chapter for "A Shimmering New Year" won't be coming this month. If I'm lucky, it'll come next month.
That said, after I get it up and posted, I'm switching gears so that I can make sure "Family" is ready to go for its intended release in November. Once it's done, I'm back to "A Shimmering New Year", and will hopefully have it totally finished by the end of the year. Hopefully.
Tried my best to clear out my backlog today, but alas, I've still got a lot to clear out. And said backlog is only going to get bigger tomorrow and Friday, given I have to work.
And because I'm a creature of habit, I have to clear out my backlog before I can sit down and write. So yeah, if I'm lucky, I'll be back on "A Shimmering New Year" this weekend, and if I'm really lucky, Chapter Five will be online before the end of the month as hoped.
Mandatory overtime's been called at work. Again. Which means that I'm working tomorrow instead of writing. Between that, my backlog, and the crap that's due later this week, I doubt that I'll get anything done.
Still aiming to get another chapter out for "A Shimmering New Year" before the month ends, mind, but right now, the optimism is not high.
I can safely say that I've worked out a way to massage the human version of Photo Finish and her two buddies, Pixel Pizazz and Violet Blurr, into my storyline before the events of my "Rainbow Rocks" adaptation.
Also, progress is being made on "A Shimmering New Year". These two things may be connected.
I go!
Chapter Four for "A Shimmering New Year" is ready to go and will be posted tomorrow.
Chapter Five, hopefully, will follow before the end of the month. Meanwhile, I've started proper work on "Family", formerly "Roots" - that story, most likely, will be ready for release in time for my second anniversary here on FIMFiction. It's currently clocking in at just under two thousand words, but I expect a great deal more to be added to it by the end.
Read and (hopefully) enjoy, people.
I've gotten a little more done with my "Rainbow Rocks" adaptation. I've gotten a little more done with "The First Evil". Alas, nothing yet for "A Shimmering New Year", but I stand a far better chance of getting something done with it after tomorrow than I have all the rest of this week.
Fingers crossed, people. If I'm lucky, I'll have two chapters out for it before the end of this month.
You ever have moments where you feel like the universe is doing it's damnest to keep you from getting things done? I'm feeling like that right now.
But I'm still trying. Chapter Four for "A Shimmering New Year" is currently clocking in at a little over five thousand words. I'm hoping that I can finish it by this weekend, but that's going to be tricky. Still, I hope that it gets folks' attention.
Things have been good to me over this last weekend, as you've probably figured. "Rainbow Rocks: Quiververse Remix" is further along, with some original parts bulking up the latest chunk (the slumber party, for those curious). I've gotten a tiny bit started on "The First Evil", and am looking forward to doing more with it come next month.
So, are folks just waiting for me to finish the story before playing "Spot the Doctor Who Reference", or am I grossly underestimating the number of people who both read my stories and are Doctor Who fans?
I'm hoping it's the former.
In any case, don't be surprised if there are more before the story's out. I just hope I can find a way of getting a "Great Wickering Stallions" in there. Darn you, MA Larson, I never planned on that.
"A Shimmering New Year" appears to be enjoyed, as I've only gotten one dislike. Meanwhile, there's twenty one likes, and almost three hundred views.
I'm making progress on the third chapter, so expect the second one either this weekend or when the almost stops being 'almost' and starts being 'exactly'.
