It's been a while since plugged one of these, but The Writeoff is about to host another pony Short Story round. Stories must be 2,000-8,000 words in length, set in the FiM universe, and somehow relate to a prompt that will be posted in exactly 26 hours. You'll have 72 hours to write your masterpiece, and then the best part begins!

Just submitted a new story, which is an extended version of something I wrote for the last writeoff: Temporal Irregu-Rarity. In which Twilight thinks a bit deeper about what she was trying to achieve in It's About Time, and Rarity gives a fashion designer's perspective on the Trousers of Time.
I haven't done much with the Writeoff in recent years, but it's still going strong and a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

So this is already a weird start of the year for me. I've never written fanfiction before, MLP was a show I've known since it started but never got into until late-2018, and yet last month I submit a story for a writing contest on this website. I'm interested to see how I did, but at the moment I'm still surprised at the reception I've gotten from the upvotes and the comments I've gotten already.
I hope everyone's had a great October, but now we've reached its end. And you know what that means.

Today, I learnt that I didn’t even know how to pronounce my own username correctly. Props to one Neighrator Pony for correcting me on this; he’s a pretty cool guy.

In the last writeoff, I took fourth place with "Collapse Failure", which wasn't too bad for my first time ever entering one of these things.

Also, in other news, I'm not healthy. In about thirty minutes, I'm going back to the dentist due to the spot where my wisdom tooth was (lower left). That spot is now infected. Been dealing with it the whole day, so I'd like to get it fixed. You know, swelling is a bit obvious when walking on campus.

The Writeoff is a Fimfiction-hosted competition for both FiM and original fiction writers alike. It is usually hosted every two-four weeks depending on if Roger wants to or not.
I have competed in this competition in the past. Haven't done so well.

I'm gonna take a break from the Sisyphean struggle of advertising my own work to give a special shout-out to a story that deserves it, which is not something that I do quite often enough. Today, I'm going to tell you about Solitude for the Modern Businessmare.
It is said that when two alicorns are in flight, their graceful motion can be likened to a feather dancing among the light breeze. Among the star-studded sky, or the clear vault of the noon, be it rain, hail or shine, the sisters interweave a song of natural grace, beauty and awe. For those who look on, they knew that this would be both the beginning as well as the end. Between them, there would be no words, for their gestures said it all.
I went crazy this week and reviewed every single minific in the latest writeoff competition. 109 stories. Over 13,600 words worth of reviews.
I posted all of these previously on the writeoff forum, but I’m posting a compilation post on my blog for reference.
For those of you who aren’t in the writeoff: you can probably ignore this post, as many of these stories are in a rough draft state and will be revised and expanded before they end up on FIMFiction in their final form.
