I'm sure there will be many questions that come up regarding this. Unfortunately answering any of them will result in spoilers, so I shan't answer them yet. I'll be saving what I have to say for next week.
Some of you may have seen this already, as it has been floating around Twitter and Derpibooru, but Grand Moff Pony commissioned a piece of fanart for Star Trek Phoenix! It is specifically dated as during the events of episode 6 of season 1: Sunset has switched over to the Generations uniform, but the actual events of Generations has yet to take place.
Hello my lovely readers. It’s that time again for another episode.
This one took a while to develop, longer than I would have expected. Yet once I started writing it I was able to finish it pretty quickly. A couple of things.
Yes, the title does reference the song from Kingdom Hearts. This was considered better, so to speak, than the working title, which was: “Nechayev is a Bitch.”

Since we knew this one would take a little while, we decided to use it as a form of recapping in addition to telling its own little story. This one had several rewrites involved, including a complete rework from top to bottom at one point. Writing the parents isn’t as easy when their favorite daughters aren’t around.

These are little teeny insights into various characters that we wouldn’t get to see from Sunset or Twilight’s perspective. Sometimes our protagonists will be involved, and sometimes not, and even when they are, it’s never their point of view we’re seeing.

Hello again my lovely readers! Yes, it's time for another episode update.
Apologies for the lack of blog post on the last update. You see, it's been a very busy time for me at work, which has left me with not a lot of time to do... much of anything, especially focus on writing Phoenix. I won't mince words: progress has been a lot slower than I would like. I'm barely keeping ahead whereas previously we had up to a five episode buffer.
Hello there, my lovely readers! Mini episode 5, the first of four, is now up.
This one was a fun little exercise in alternate perspectives, as I did not one, not two, but three perspectives here for all the sirens. As for why the alternating cutie marks for them? Well apart from making it clearer whose perspective it was, they actually have symbols I can use.
If I ever start having multiple switches for the OCs though we’ll find some way to make that clear visually as well.

Season two, as stated elsewhere, is going down the more typical Trek style of adventure, albeit still with serialization. So think less TNG and more DS9 to get an idea for the kind of stories we’re going to be telling with it. Because it’s set in the backdrop of the Dominion War, a lot of it will deal with the war in one way or another, but just like DS9 we’ll have times we step away from that.

I won’t lie to you: this one is long. As in over twenty thousand words long. There was no suitable place to break it into two, and to be honest I didn’t want to. I like the idea of the last episode of the season being longer than the rest. Can’t promise it’ll always turn out that way, but it works well here.
