So, I went to my uncle's funeral this last Saturday. It was a nice funeral, or at least as nice as celebrating a dead person can be, but it was open casket. Now, I am desensitized to death, blood, gore, and dead bodies, but I always find myself uncomfortable with open coffins. It really disturbs me for some reason. I have to assume it's the setting that it's in. If I were to find a dead body somewhere I would be less disturbed than finding an open coffin somewhere. At least with a random dead

So, I've been working on a new story after finally picking one of the many ideas I've written down and stored on my desktop. I noticed that a lot of them contain Twilight as the main focus or secondary focus. I'm not sure why though. She's my third favourite of the main six, and second favourite of the princesses. I've been thinking about this quite a lot lately. Are birthdays special? Everyone has one. Why do we celebrate the birth of another human into this world when we ourselves came in the same way? It's not special at all.

I have never regarded my birthday as special, in fact, I generally hate my birthday. It's just another day to me. Though I don't care for my birthday, I do celebrate the birthdays of those around me. I never thought to stop and ask myself why I bothered.

Most of us have 'em, most of us don't want 'em. I know I got scars from my past, from what I've dealt with. My face looks perpetually tired to the point I look strange and it kind of mars my face. I sometimes look supernaturally sad from being overwhelmed by emotions, and it's hard to wipe it off my face.

So, I've been leaning hard on certain models while laying out my story, and cheating as the needs of the narrative dictate for the details. Nobody needs to get the exact layout of, say, Bison Country, or how much of a Western Sea there is out past the far west. Especially since the way the story's been breaking, we're never going to lay eyes on an actual bison.
