This one needs a little more explanation.

I'm not sure this one even flies much short of supersonic. I do know that at 300 m/s or higher the thing is nearly unsteerable- probably due to the canards I put on the nose to move the center of lift forward a bit. I'm pretty sure those were a bad idea, at least without control surfaces.

Tonight, beginning at 7 PM Central, I've decided to wrap up Kerbal Space Program Hard Mode- at least this playthrough. Just going to bring the Duna mission home so I can put together a video of the odyssey.

There are two reasons for this. The first one is the August Patreon vote got ONE vote- and it was for FTL. So for August I'll be working my way up through unlocking all the FTL Advanced Ed stuff on a new machine, beginning with Easy mode and then advancing.

I got Kerbal Space Program today.

Now I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm aware of the basic rules and mechanics of space flight and aeronautics. Lift surfaces on the centre of mass, slingshotting off planets, Delta V, aerodynamics, that sort of thing. It would help if I did the tutorial, now I'm stuck because I don't know all the hotkeys. I got throttle up, zoom and camera rotate as well as the aerofoil control keys and that's about it.

There's a long road ahead...

It's hardly unusual for me to go to a convention- after all, that's where most of my income originates, in a dealer's room.

But I've decided to go to Dallas this weekend, using credit card points, for Nightmare Nights... and NOT sell things.

(Well, that last bit was decided for me. I applied as a vendor months ago and wasn't accepted.)

Today I flew the second mission for the next chapter of CSP. All I have left to write is the outcome of that flight and the epilogue, and another 25,000-ish word chapter will be complete, or at least ready for final edits.

Expect a Changeling Space Program update next week.

Current draft: 25,508 words.

I will spend my non-sales time this weekend at my booth at Delta H Con editing, getting viewpoints more consistent, punching up descriptions, and definitely looking for deadwood to trim.

But I don't anticipate finding much.

So today knighty threw up documentation for a FimFiction REST API. I've only skimmed the documentation so far, but from the looks of things I should be able to throw together a Google Apps Script which will integrate with Google Docs and allow you to post/update stories from within Docs. Could be neat!

We'll see how far this goes.

I was recently going through old posts on another blog, and came across this gem. Adapted from user "Arcanaville" on the City of Heroes forums:

I started a long burn on ion engines in KSP an hour ago.

It's about 1/8 complete.

This is what happens when you're going low-end interstellar with a 270-ton craft powered by twelve ion engines.
