The first draft of my FlutterDash contest entry is complete. Yeah, the thing I said I totally wasn't going to do last time. I decided to do it. It ended up a bit longer than I had originally planned thanks to Bribri, who made various suggestions that inflated it by at least several thousand words. Thanks.

I suppose this is a little late, but I think I like getting this out at the top of the month more.
So here's something a little different: not an obscure crossover. Instead, the first solo riff of 2017 is a FlutterDash fic submitted to me by its author. It accomplishes FlutterDash in the same way all shipping fics accomplish their ship: directly screwing with canon in ways that don't make sense.

Did you know it's been a little over 5 years since I wrote Loyalty? That was my first and last time I had written Flutterdash. It's been a long time since I've written about this ship, but something is coming soon. I hope you all will like it.
I know I haven't written much on here lately, but that's because I haven't had much inspiration lately, but recently I was hit with a huge wave of inspiration, and I'm now working on a brand new story. It's gonna definitely take a while for me to write, with all of the themes and topics the story will touch on, but here's a few small hints to the story.

Most of this was written as a response to a comment by Bad Horse asking me why I dislike FlutterDash. At his recommendation I decided it deserved a blog post in it's own right, so I expanded it some. This is just how I ship, how I like to read romance. Other opinions are just as valid.

The story name was inspired by a very pretty, very sad Leonard Cohen song. The story has nothing to do with it, though. Except for both sort of being about marriage, I guess? Just. Leonard and I had totally different experiences with marriage.

So I'm putting Chasing the Briny Neighsayer on hiatus to focus on my new FlutterDash fic. I realize I've already been doing that, but I'm going to shoot for a release of the first chapter and the prologue early next week. (I want February 1st, but we'll see how long it takes the mods to approve it.) I'm currently going through the editing process for the ten chapters I have initially completed, and I've got some really wonderful help from great editors. I'm going to try and release the chapters
After over a week of writing, I've started chapter 10 of my FlutterDash fic. Feeling pretty good about it! I just wish I had more time (and peace and quiet) to work.

I have been most busy as of late, working on an internship that should bring my work to get a master’s degree in public history to an end. But that’s a story for another day.
