Hey there, everyone. Because I and possibly others out there want to improve on each other's characterizations and writing, I've decided to create a new series that can help with that. It's called OC Critique Request. Either and/or others send our OC's to me and you guys get to critique them if needed. I also did this because I was bored and wanted to know if the OC's hold up. MLP is at its dullest when you can call the ending less than halfway through the episode, and at its worst when the plot hinges on a character acting like an idiot... this is one of those episodes. So I guess it's a testament to skill that this episode avoids being awful. It's just bland and boring, yet not forgettable.
I have two choices to pick between that I want to do a villain critique for: Count Bleck and Dimentio, both from Super Paper Mario. The problem is that I don't know which one to pick first since both of them are very great, well-written, and nuanced villains.
So, I've decided to do a sub series where I let you choose which two or more villains that you would like to see me do a review on and why.

Three Rarity episodes three weeks in a row, eh? Okey dokey. First, liking the continuity with Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolt Reserves, it's like the writers heard me. Well it's all there in the title. I am currently in the market for some new writer friends/critique partners to meet with on skype maybe once a week and keep each other updated on our stories and goals as well as give each other both constructive criticism and motivation/encouragement to write when we really need it.
I'm bored enough to look back at how I wrote at 19 and see how edgy/much of a horrible writer I was. The way I see it, if I can laugh at myself and critique my past work, then maybe I won't make the same mistakes again. Either way, feel free to skip this blog if you don't care, or come on in to laugh at my expense! I won't cover the whole story. Just some particularly bad/dumb/predictable/maybe good lines of mine.
If someone tells you what they don't like about your story, that doesn't tell you whether your story is any good or not.
But does that make their feedback useless? That depends...

If you're like me, you can read your work 1,000 times and think you got all the kinks (not sexual) out. You post it and then someone replies with a litany of your mistakes.
A lot of time they think that you should write in the "King's English", not taking into consideration that you may be expressing a dialect or colloquialism. Or worse (gasp), you meant it to sound that way. Lighten up, this is neither an English Term Paper or great literature.

Okay, I know it's pretty early for another blog post but I am dreadfully curious on something... Why did anyone like The Guardian!? Just re-reading through it made me hate my own writing, it was subpar at best! I don't expect an answer or anyone to respond, but I am just so confused! The writing is sloppy and has so many errors!
