Hey readers. I’m still in the grips of dealing with the devastation visited upon both my family and my hometown (and for a terrifying read of what the community has undergone, see this news story)
Euugh. Today was supposed to be a catch-up day for writing. As well as a day when I got up and put up this post first thing in the morning. And then … I woke up at around eleven with a fuzzy head and light sore throat … and then I feel back asleep and woke up at 1 … and then I actually crawled out of bed at 3 a few minutes ago … We’ll see if I get any writing done, but from prior experience of forcing myself to write when my brain is like this and then deleting it all the moment my mind comes

This artist only drew six pony pictures, one of each of the Mane 6, at least five years ago, and their deviantart account no longer exists. But I think they're lovely pictures. I hope you're doing well where ever you are, shiningdarkly. Find their art here: https://derpibooru.org/tags/artist-colon-shiningdarkly
I personally love myths, as do we all. Most of the creatures you’re going to see in something like this are existing ones from myth, and the majority of both them and original ones are a combination of real lifeforms in a mish mash, or giants in physical size, or possess unique abilities few if any in real life have.

And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

Well even I can't say I planned this one. For your viewing pleasure (since I'm almost positive it won't be on tv at any respectible hour this month), the 1964 Rankin/Bass classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Enjoy!:
R.I.P Arthur Rankin Jr. (1924-2014) and Jules Bass (1935-2022).

Anyway, this is another episode that runs parallel to the episode last week, this is Applebloom doing the Sisterhooves Social with Big Mac, and it was quite the thing.
The Equestrian military instructor stared at the class in front of him. Each pony completely focussed on his instruction. These were no young cadets, but soldiers with experience enough to know that missing a single detail could cost them their life. They had served on the Northern Front when Sombra had attacked the pass. Unable to withstand the onslaught they had been forced to retreat as the Crystal Army had swept into Equestria. Sombra’s army had control over half the country and the Royal
