Stan Lee versus 90s comics · 11:39pm Sep 23rd, 2021

This really speaks for itself in some ways.

In all seriousness though, this does feel pretty damn instructive. Or is "indicative" a more appropriate word here? Hmm...

Also, I can readily see where Spider-Man gets some of his smartass banter from here. "You can think and draw at the same time?" Damn! :rainbowlaugh:

New Illustration - Mister Hooper - Friend of Angel Grove · 5:14am Nov 23rd, 2020

The man pictured below is Will Lee. He was better known to my generation as Mr. Hooper, the owner of Hooper's General Store on Sesame Street. I referenced a line he made during the TV special "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" briefly at the end of the Christmas Special - VOLUME 14 FINALE - Chapter 22 - Christmas Miracles in the Author's Notes. It was a very touching scene to me. Sadly, this chapter's reference is not so happy.

Peter S. Beagle Remembers Christopher Lee · 4:46pm Jun 12th, 2015

Peter S. Beagle, author of the Last Unicorn, the book which forms the foundation of one of my favourite movies of all time, wrote about his experiences having known Christopher Lee. I found the piece moving, so I figured some of you may as well.

The Passing of a Legend · 7:24pm Nov 12th, 2018

Tragic news, everyone.

It grieves me to announce, that apparently Stanley Martin Lieber - or as we all popularly know him, "Stan Lee" - is dead at age 95.

The cause of death has not yet been announced.

This is in some ways to be expected... in fact I am impressed by the fact that he lived to the age he did... but at the same time, it's a very heartbreaking bit of news.

A sneakpeek into the next chapter · 3:00am Nov 30th, 2017

Twilight could not help but squirm in her seat, she tried to not look to antsy - even if she was failing miserably.

When she was half dragged here by Rarity she quickly rushed out saying something about her boutique, leaving Twilight and Lee Roy with the spa sisters.

She would say Lee Roy looked a little overwhelmed, if he didn’t look so stoic all the time. He peers around listening closely as the spa sisters give him a small tour around the spa.

Stylometrics: Factoring out Equestria and point of view · 5:23pm Aug 14th, 2014

My stylometric analysis gave us a sharp division between stories written by professional authors and stories from fimfiction. A very big part of that was using Equestrian vocabulary.

stylo produces a file, 'wordlist.txt', that lists all the words to be used for the analysis. You can take that file, add or remove words, and then check the box Features -> Existing wordlist to use that file instead of generating a new one.

I removed Equestrian vocabulary from wordslist:

It's not like anyone even reads theses anyway - I only have two followers, I'm just wasting time between chapters.:derpytongue2:

Review: Halloween (1978) · 10:07pm Oct 31st, 2015

John Carpenter's iconic 1978 masterpiece remains a wonderful example of not only prime example of the slasher film genre, but also the film that, more then any other, reinvented the horror genre, codifying and building the dozens of tropes that would come to define all subdivisions of horror and thrillers.

Yesterday was a bad day for me, and I just needed time to myself...

Sorry for the late post, folks.

Anyway, here's the newest chapter of Discord's New Business. It's shorter, but sillier than the last one, and it also contains some of the fallout from what happened last time.
