I played Octodad · 7:49pm Dec 19th, 2020

The game where just playing is the challenge.

As far as story goes, it's kind of slice of life. You play the titular Octodad, although the games tutorial starts before that. You learn to navigate the controls during his wedding, getting dressed, breaking walls, and maintaining the outward illusion that you are a human.

This is the last SMS game for now.

Let me start with a bit of the movie. This movie was bottled lightning, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. It's a great comedy that plays things straight. The characters seem odd until you get to know them, but once you understand them they seem kind of realistic. Like someone you may have met before.

I played Castle Crashers · 10:25pm Dec 5th, 2020

Castle Crashers takes the rescue the princess trope, putts it in a side scrolling beat 'em up, and runs with it.

As for the story, an evil ruler kidnaps several princesses and it's up to you to rescue them. Fighting your way through hordes of minions, bosses, and running from a giant cat.

Okay, coming back from Shadow the Hedgehog.
Another fanfiction game, but this one was enjoyable for me.
So when you start the game, you've got Shenron telling you that you're being summoned, you make your OC and then are teleported to the planet of the Supreme Kai of Time. Turns out that you were summoned to be the hero they needed, despite having tons of powerful capable fighters, including having access to the Z Fighters.

Working your way up from nothing.

And that really is the case, the game begins during the early part of the Blight of the first game, you're fleeing the darkspawn with your family, trying to find anywhere safe. After a brief tutorial battle the game reveals that this is the narrative as told by Varric.

All three in a row.

It's been a long time since the destruction of the world stone. And frankly, nothing seems to be any different. Once you've decided on your character you start at the top of a hill, going down you find dead attacking a nearby gate and people defending it. Help them out, mention something of destiny, and you find yourself in Tristram.

The original on the Game Cube.

I recently found an old memory card labeled AC. The town on it called Bordello, my brother and I used to check in daily. We kept the place clean, had a well cared for orchard of all kinds, even money (as much as you can since they die after three harvests.) We had completed the museum. The residents were happy. Our town was nice.

That was more than ten years ago.

Yep, but these are different than most zombie games. They're cute love stories.

I saw her standing there. … But then she was a zombie.

This is a puzzle platform game where you use the arrow keys to move around, telling you the story as you advance.

Have you ever wanted to play a game based on the writing of HP Lovecraft that still wasn't a rehash of one of his stories. Well, this is the closest I've found so far. There are games based on his stories, and games that use his stories as a script, yet, to me, this game gets the feeling so much closer to reading one of his stories.

I played Don't Escape 1, 2, and 3

I seriously can't recommend Scriptwelder enough. I have yet to play a game they've made that isn't wonderful.
So the point of these games is simple. Don't escape.

The interface for these games is all point and click, so you can jump right in and click around. That being said, just clicking around won't win you the game. These are puzzle games and you have to figure out how to set things up to not escape.

Nintendo's first dive into 3D Zelda Games.

I'm going to start with an opinion that could get me some heat: I don't think it's that great.

But I still believe it's good. I had a lot of fun playing it, but I had much more fun with Link to the Past. And without Ocarina we don't get to the other 3D Zelda games. It's raised by its legacy, but on it's own does it stand?

Or at least I tried to. My PS2 has stopped spinning disks completely so I can't play any games on it at all. That being said I have played Ghostbusters on the PS2 before and am willing to share my thoughts on it. This won't be a review of that game, as I can't dive deeper into it right now. But I'm still going to compare it to the PS3 copy that I did play.

Dungeons and Dragons by any other name.

I played it both on the PC and PS3, and frankly I couldn't do anything on the PC version. The controls just weren't intuitive or adaptable for me. That's my problem to be fair, but it more than bugged me that I couldn't map the controls to a controller on the PC.

Now, I play Dungeons and Dragons regularly and this is actually the game that got me interested in the table top game. The “A” in AD&D stands for Advanced. Which translates into 2nd edition because of all the editions out now. But there were a few things that made no sense (I'm looking at you THAC0!) But that's the system I started on so it's not that bad for me.
