As a nymph, Thorax was considered the “weird and creepy kid” in the hive. Weird, because he was highly empathic and a pacifist, and creepy, because being an empath meant he was more aware of everyone's emotions and can read people very easily, which creeped people out.
Cause I’ve been thinking about it lately.
This story was named after the chorus lyrics in the song titled “Monsters” by Katie Sky, since we thought it would be fitting for the relationship between Thorax and Pharynx depicted in this story.
*Walks up to Thorax* “Hey, Uncle Thorax?”
“Hm? What is it?”
“Does Auntie Ember know you have this?” *holds Thorax’s Ember body pillow up*
*Blushes furiously* “H-How’d you find it...?”
“I mean, I already saw Papa Pharynx’s...” *looks at the other side* “Awww, Auntie Ember’s gonna be mad when she finds out you have an image of her showing her—”
“Don’t tell her, please! I’ll do anything!”

As a blue stallion and a green stallion loaded with saddlebags emerged off the trail in the woods into the clearing, they stepped into a sunny sky with birds chirping and a green valley stretching ahead of them.
"Pharrrrrrr!"
"What?!"
"I'm boreddddd... can we go play?"
"Tell ya' what, I'll count to a hundred, you hide, and when I'm done, I'll find you."
"Okay!"
*Snickering* "Okay, ready-?"
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!"
"Huh?"
But I feel like “To Change A Changeling” would’ve been better if they removed Starlight and Trixie and focused on Thorax having to deal with it instead.
It would’ve given him more limelight than he did in the show overall... right?
Thorax walked into a saloon, wanting to practice his assertiveness. He insulted a few ponies and griffons. He soon found a patron who didn’t take his insult so well.
“You folks competing in an ugly competition?” he said. Oh no I didn’t!
The griffon growled.
Thorax trotted to the exit. I showed them my alpha side.
Then, the griffon locked Thorax in a chokehold and began punching him in the side and back.
“Argh! Ah fu—”

I remember mentioning my custom plush somewhere, but forgot to blog about it. 
This smol plush of Calor was a gift to myself from the final Bronycon. I couldn't find a plush I liked (not nearly enough changelings, my dissapointment was immeasurable) so I commissioned one from an artist there, instead, and had it mailed to me some months later.
“Thorax! The other changelings are embarrassing me!”
“Aw, Venom. I’m sure if you talk to them—”
“THERE WILL BE NO TALKING, ONLY DEATH!”
