My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season 8 Episode 23: "Sounds of Silence" (SPOILERS) · 4:02pm Sep 29th, 2018
In which ....
In which ....
In which a fat dragon spreads a thick layer of cow manure all over Ponyville.
It was fine, I guess. I probably would have like it better if I wasn’t living in 2018 and if the episode didn’t seem to have a bit of a political subtext. I mean, I get what the episode was trying to teach. One, don’t force a new idea into following old rules, especially if the old rules are hindering the new idea from working the way it was intended. Two, opening yourself to people who are different from you and learning how to work with and get along with them is better than shutting them
Remember when My Little Pony wasn't a jumbled mess of different airdates around the world?
I can't even go on Derpibooru now without risking tripping over finale spoilers.
What the hell happened with the second half of Season 8?
In which Rockhoof wants Twilight to show him the bridge of his old ship--no bloody A, B, C, or D.
In which Fluttershy. Just...Fluttershy. And Fluttershy. And Fluttershy. ...and Fluttershy.
In which Starlight and Sunburst go home for the first time in forever.
In which we get our first ever canon R63 character.
In which mixed signals nearly blow the S.S. SugarMac out of the water.
It didn't occur to me until just now, reflecting on the episode...
This episode? Is a follow-up to "Slice of Life".
Think about it.
Practically every side character from THAT episode was in THIS episode.
The Mane Six were completely absent.
It took me a while to notice this. Well played...
In which the CMCs want PhDs in the ABCs of BFFs.
I don't have a lot to say about this season's opening episodes besides now knowing that the MLP movie is now deemed canon, Twilight now has her own SCHOOL, and we have a lot of new characters that I... actually kinda like.
Though I have one big problem with this premiere... the EEA. I'm not gonna say much about them except for one thing... after what happened during these episodes, they should be fired... such assholes...
That's all I gotta say.
Firstly, I know I’m late in reacting to this. I was busy with school. Secondly, I’m still busy with school, and I will be even busier with school in the future, so I’m going to have to keep this short. I also might not be posting much for a while. Anyway, here are my thoughts on the finale and maybe the season as a whole.
Mane Six things:
A longer version of this post, with a little analysis, is on Louder Yay. But I'll include the headline ranking list here, after the break. My own rankings are in brackets after each episode name.
In which My Little Pony pulls a Scrubs retool.
I don't have much to say except... FLUTTERSHY YOU ARE AMAZING!!! She has been climbing my favorite meter quite a bit ever since the episode with her brother. It really shows that her character development has improved a lot and believe it or not, KEPT IT WITHIN HER CHARACTER!!!
Now... which Fluttershy persona is best?
In which Celestia can't act her way out of a wet paper bag.
Hello and welcome to the Logan Disagrees With Ninety Percent of Fimfiction, Apparently Show! Because I really liked this episode, and remember I'm a big Celestia fan. Going into slightly more detail than usual for a blog mini-review, so I'll put it past a break. But my score is an unashamed ★★★★.
