I found Discordant Harmony adorable, if a tad on the predictable side.

And wow, The Perfect Pear... I teared up a little!

Fame and Misfortune was incredible. It was as if the fandom invaded Ponyville itself.

Triple Threat was pretty good; though we viewed it as more of an "Ember and Thorax" episode rather than a Spike episode.

Starswirl the Bearded is a hardhearted jerk who doesn’t know how to admit when he is wrong or doesn’t know something, and how Twilight continues to look up to him throughout the episode puzzles me so much.  I mean, okay, Starswirl’s brilliant, powerful, and not TOTALLY heartless, so I can understand why Twilight admires him, but I’m surprised that the pedestal she’s got him on barely even cracked.

Mixed feelings. Fairly funny on the whole, and the song battle was enjoyable. On the other hand, I got a bit bored by the actual romance stuff. So not as good as episode 7, but still a reasonably solid time-passer. ★★/★★★
