TURN BACK NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT THIS
My thoughts of the Season 5 finale reminded me of Dexter's Lab: Ego Trip. Every change in the past resulted in a progressively worst future. It is nice to see all our favorite baddies again (and for me, it's nice to see Zecora get all badass). The song at the end would fit more to Sunset Shimmer though.
So, how would altering the past several times affect the New Timeline?
I was gonna do something like this earlier but I thought it would be better to wait until I had watched the eps a second time, and I’m glad I did! Just a bunch of thoughts in no particular order, some observations, and some fangirling…
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Pros:
- The animation was top-notch.
- Twilight's role as a guest lecturer at Celestia's School of Magic really suited her (side note: does Celestia also sponsor a School of Meteorology and a School of Botany? She seems a tad biased against the other pony tribes).
So I'm pretty sure that most people expect Starlight Glimmer to return and so do I but I also believe that the CMC are going to be involved. Now this could be in a number of ways like Starlight saying that she will help them get their cutie marks and then either actually getting them their cutie marks before changing it to her equal or her just equalizing them right there and in both case this ends with them getting brainwashed and the mane six have to help them. Another way it could go
Well, I felt particularly inspired by the season finale, so I'll start this post with a fair warning:
Spoilers ahead!
Believe it or not, I have in fact been keeping an eye on the newest season, and now that the final episode of S5 is upon us, I think I need to reveal my thoughts on at least a few of these episodes. Please keep in mind, these ARE opinions. And because they're mine, they're absolutely correct and I can't help it if you're wrong.
Read on past the page beak. Er, the peg break. The pig brake! The, the line! Read past the line!!
It was great. Ending was clearly rushed though.
My thoughts below the page break because spoilers.
Be honest, how many of you looked at that title and thought I was gonna talk about Fallout 4?
But yes, I'm talking about that fan fallout regarding the last five or so minutes of the S5 finale. And now that the fires have cooled down a bit, maybe it can be met with some thoughtful debate.
The season five finale was great fun! It also had some interesting storytelling techniques we can learn from both in how intriguing they were, as well as some shortcomings it had. Obviously:
Season Five Finale Spoilers
But it’s been two weeks since it aired as of writing this so hopefully you’re caught up.
After two weeks, I've finally managed to get off my butt and do a review. Also, this post is hella long, so enter at your own risk.
Something I need to write down to immortalize it:
Since the Season 5 Finale aired, I'm counting the number of fics that get written for it. And in the first two weeks since the Season 5 Finale aired, with last Saturday, the amount of fics for it reached up to the breathtaking number of 111 fics!
111 fanfictions..... for one episode..... in two weeks.
Saying that the Season 5 Finale hit the fandom like a bombshell would be a gigantic understatement.
Howdy folks! So, unfortunately, my NaNoWriMo ambitions... didn't really pan out. Again. Fk.
i should be sleeping now but too excited. I even made a christmas edit of my avatar and about to christmasfy my user page. It's like... DOUBLE EXCITEMENT! i'm good with words, yaYA?!
So, another season has come and gone. Season 5 went out with a very fanficcy bang, as we see an episode that could well have been a piece of fanfiction.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a particularly good one in some respects, while it was fairly decent in others.
The overall idea behind this episode was actually a fairly good one – Starlight Glimmer going back in time to make it so that Twilight Sparkle and her friends never got together.
Spoiler Alert: I'm going to be talking about episode 22 of season 5 of MLP:FIM, and speculating about the finale. If you are not caught up to the 22nd episode, then catch up before reading this. If you are caught up, read on. Or don't. I don't control you. You have free will. Hopefully.
