According to my dad, she fled the country to escape WW 2. Which indeed makes her a heroine in the family.

So, awhile back, GrandCat started translating The Flash Sentry Papers into Russian. The existence of A) Russian Bronies and B) Russian Bronies that would want to read my fic is something new to me.
But wait, there's more!
As not only has my work been translated, it's now been audiobook'd. Or, uh, Youtube reader'd. Just ... in Russian.
It seems that the tensions in Russia cooled down some, but this also has proven that Putin is losing power. The thought of civil war hasn't left the table. It is a sign that the Russian-Ukrainian war is ending, but that only can be achieved when the Crimean Peninsula the last Ukrainian territory is taken back from Russia. When that happens that is the day that Russia will collapse and burn in a bloody and brutal civil war that will burn and dissolve the country for good.

This makes me wonder whether the Russian ICBMs would have ended up on the right continent, or if Brazil and Nigeria would have had a very bad time in case of World War III.

I was sitting on my hands thinking today: 'Luna' is just 'Moon' in Russian due to the extensive Greek influence on the language carried over via Eastern Orthodoxy, right? So Princess Luna is just...Princess Moon in Russian? What the heck is Princess Celestia? Are there any other weird transliterations into the Russian version of the show?
Watched this with my sister and her husband on Sunday afternoon. I'd watched some scenes before, so I wasn't going into this totally blind, but my gosh, what a magnificently black bit of political satire. The tagline "A Comedy of Terrors" is well earned.
